“It's got the WOW factor!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2011

We stayed here one night on our road trip and stayed in the Sand Dollar room. What a beautiful hotel! Room was thoughtfully and tastefully designed with big comfy bed, large flat screen TV, dark wood floors with giant rug, working log effect fireplace, designer bathrobes and slippers, fridge and coffee maker. Just stunning! Staff were so friendly and helpful too. Breakfast voucher was a welcome bonus after very poor breakfasts in the previous hotels we stayed in. We were given the choice of 3 diners to eat in, we chose Frankie & Lola's as it was down beside the picturesque harbour area - DELICIOUS!! Loved the hotel, loved Morro Bay! Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable.

You need to know that the Monarch room faces the fence, has no view and misses the cool vintage motel courtyard atmosphere. As far as we can remember that is not mentioned in the room description. We nearly asked to move but have lost the will to ask especially after a very long flight and are fed up with locations not pushing the envelope, It is Monday night and quite likely not full, so why disappoint. Having said that the room is verycomfortable, the bathroom fully functional but with no window or outside air inlet is stuffy as soon as the door is shut. So no cigar in this funky small beach community, it's the details that make the difference, let's say that we are slightly underwhelmed.

Room Tip: Avoid the "Monarch" room if you would prefer not to be on the sidelines.

Stayed for 2 nights at the Beach Bungalow Inn and Suites in July. We had there the nicest, largest and cleanest suite of our 3 weeks traveling on the coast. Our room was the Pacific. This was reserved by internet for 3 (wife, daughter and I) so we didn't exactly know what to expect. We got a lot more than expected.
There are 2 large bedrooms, 2 large flat-screen, a superb washroom. Every detail has been thought to make your stay something to remember. And it's so clean!
Best of all the Beach Bungalow gives you breakfast coupons for 3 restaurants you can choose from. We decided for one that was so great (food, style and coffee) that we went back the next morning (Frankie & Lola's). Maybe the other ones are also great but this one was something to remember.
Weather was not at its best but nevertheless we really enjoyed our stay in Morro Bay. We went kayaking on the bay (a must to do), to the beach for long walk and to Montana de Oro State Park for a really enjoyable afternoon where we observed wildlife.
It was the first time we stayed in Morro Bay and so enjoyed the town, the area and the Beach Bungalow Inn that we will be back on our next trip to California.

Bungalows are within walking distance to the waterfront. Provided breakfasts were in
restaurants nearby. They had a great program going on when we stayed & for staying 3
nights we got last night 1/2 price. This property was a great bargain with the free breakfasts inclued in the room rate.

Room Tip: The Rooms were spacious and very clean and neat. Lovely oudoor area to sit by pit fire and chat.

We were on honeymoon and we were on our way from LA to San Francisco taking in a few sights such as the Big Sur en route. We got to this place around 8.30pm and we had an envelope on the door with our name, we saw ourselves to the room and it was lovely. Nicely decorated and very clean. In addition because they knew we were on honeymoon a nice bottle of sparkling wine was waiting for us in a bucket of ice.
I met the owners the next morning and they were a really lovely couple.
You have a choice of local restaurants for breakfast and you get a voucher which is a nice touch.

The most reasonably priced liquor store in the USA was just around the corner!!

Great value for money and we would certainly stay again.
