“Beautiful stay at Estero Inn !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

A lovely stay at the Estero Inn in Morro Bay Cal. !! We celebrated an anniversary and also attended the festivities at the annual Harbor Fest going on thru the weekend. The hotel is still fairly new , 5yrs maybe? It certainly looks new. Well kept rooms and property. Our room was the Sandy Dunes Suite. It was upstairs, very cozy, with a wall fireplace and small balcony outside with a table & two chairs, just enough room to sit and have coffee or drinks and gaze out at the bay & dunes across the way. The room was quiet and spacious for us. The a/c unit was a bit loud , but efficient. There was also a screen door on the balcony so you could let the cool night air in as well.

Down stairs was a small room for breakfast featuring, do it yourself bagels, coffee, juices, yogurt, fruit, cereals etc., plenty of choices. Also adjoining is a room with a few tables, books, papers, mags and a single computer for your use.

Ample parking is provided for guests right next to the building, so no worries about that.

The staff was very friendly and quite helpful. We met the proprietor, Ken, a very nice gentleman who is also a native of the area. He made great conversation and told some stories and history of the bay. He also gave some tips on areas to visit not far from the hotel.

Awesome time at the Estero, we loved it. We have stayed at the Inn at Morro Bay before too, it was very nice but high end on the pricing and far away from the action, The Estero Inn location is perfect if you like to stay right down at the sea shore, especially if you want to explore the embarcadero and sample the great foods and many fine wines & beers !!! No driving necessary !!! You can stay at a less expensive no frills hotel, it really comes down to what kind of experience you want, for us , the anniversary was well spent at the Estero !

p.s. right next door is a great spa / massage suite, Awaken Harmony, Melissa is a fantastic therapist and provides several treatments. End your day with a massage and walk home...next door.

Room Tip: All the rooms are very similar, with mini fridge & microwaves, tv, some have the fireplace, the...

Have stayed in many places around the Morro Bay area and the Estero Inn by far is one of our favorites. Stayed in a Bay Front room downstairs. The only potential drawback is the public can walk by the windows. However the windows are high quality and during the day when foot traffic is more likely, you can't see in due to the coating on the windows. The room was very clean and all amenities perfect for our stay.

The staff was excellent during our stay and exceeded all of our expectations.

We enjoyed a lovely stay in this very comfortable little hotel. The room was immaculate, beautifully presented and had an amazing view of the rock. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was buffet style with a good selection of fruit, pastries, bagels etc. No cooked option apart from make-your-own waffles.

Free parking. Free wifi.

We did mention to staff that it would have been good to know beforehand that virtually all the restaurants stop serving by 2030. Apparently this is 'normal' for Morro Bay in low season.

Room Tip: Consider a room with sea/harbour view.

We booked this hotel based on TA reviews and have to say we weren't dissappointed! We loved the Estero Inn. It was just a pity we only had one night here. We had a bay suite which had a nice view but just walk 10 feet outside the room for a stunning view.
Breakfast is included and was very good too. Parking is free too. Highly recommended.

There's only eight rooms in the hotel & it's newer. We stayed in the Sunset suite, it's the best room in the place. It's on the top floor and the balcony faces Morro Rock & the bay. The room isn't that big but it has a king bed, fireplace & an awesome view. We definitely recommend this hotel.

Very nice place to stay along the coast in Morro Bay. Our room was large, clean, had terrific views, flat screen TV, fireplace, refrig, microwave, sink, and coffeemaker, free wifi. Several nice restaurants to walk to for dinner. Breakfast is not so great, especially for the price of the room, small rolls, plain bagels, cold cereals, yogurt, a little fruit, hard boiled eggs, waffle maker, good coffee. But we would definitely recommend staying here.

Estero Inn is gorgeous being literally right over the water - the rooms are beautifully decorated and very large - the bathroom was immaculate. We stayed in a side room with limited view of the bay however it was still truly lovely with a little balcony and a view - the price was a little less than the rooms with the full view so we were happy with our view. The cost is excellent given the quite luxurious rooms - we loved our gas fireplace as it was quite cool during our stay. Free WiFi worked well and we really enjoyed listening to the seals and all the birds around the bay. Tremendous location!! The included breakfast was fabulous before we headed off for another day on the road - make your own delicious waffles, cereals, oats, bagels, fresh fruit, yoghurt, juice, tea and coffee. Highly recommend this Inn for your stay in Morro Bay - cannot say one bad word.
