“Sunset suite is worth it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2013 via mobile

After reading the reviews here, We booked the sunset suite for our wedding anniversary and it was well worth the splurge !

The views at sunset are well worth it.

Small but nice breakfast spread. Hot waffles and cinnamon buns recommended ! Coffee here and in the room is very good!

A small inn ( think we were the only people there) but it added to the privacy and enjoyment of our stay.

The reviews and photos before mine are accurate !

This was our second stay at the Inn over Christmas. No fuss about just a one night stay this year and the rooms were as we remembered: spotlessly clean, charming and well appointed. The staff is friendly and attentive. We have stayed at many different hotels and B & Bs over the last 25 years and the Estero is our No. 1 experience and new first choice..

Stayed at the Estero Inn in December for 1 night. What a great find. The Estero Inn is very clean and comfortable and quiet. Rick at reception could not have been more friendlier and helpful and has a wealth of knowledge on the area.

Over a year ago our first stay in the Sunset Suite was fantastic and our friends were very happy with the Bay View Suite so I knew we wanted a repeat visit for the New Year.
This time we stayed in the Morro Rock Suite. The view was very good and the room really comfortable. With the Inn at the end of the embarcadero it is quiet, especially as the evening progresses.
There are only 2 tables for 4 each in the breakfast room, but that was never a problem. A young couple was finishing up and left the first morning and the second morning we had the room to ourselves. There's a good variety of breakfast items offered and the coffee was great.
Hope to stay there again in 2013.

Room Tip: I'd choose the Sunset Suite again, or the Bay View Suite because their views are unparalled and...

Just over a year ago, I proposed to my then-girlfriend in Montana de Oro State Park. The plan for that weekend, in her mind, had been to camp out and hike. But the weather turned very cold, so when she asked if we could stay in a cheap hotel instead, I agreed--just to keep the real plan on track. Even before the weather turned cold, I had reserved the Bay View Suite at the Estero Inn--which is anything but a "cheap hotel room". So after she became my fiancee just before a spectacular sunset on the coast, our very nice room was the perfect surprise to follow. The bed was comfortable, the fire in the fireplace was charming, and the up-close view of the bay and all of its boats and seals was just beautiful. And the owner and workers went above and beyond to make this a special weekend for us. I had asked for flowers and a bottle of champagne in the room, and those were there--along with rose petals strewn about, a bowl of expensive chocolates, and two towels on the bed folded into the shape of swans, which together formed the shape of a heart. After being stunned by the proposal, my fiancee was then stunned by our fantastic room and all of its special touches--and then stunned again by our delicious dinner at Shawn's on Main. The weekend was a total hit. And as an extraordinarily kind gesture to congratulate us on our engagement, the owner refused to let me pay for the flowers, champagne and chocolates.

Altogether, I was thoroughly impressed. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the views were unbeatable, and the generosity and attention to detail by the owner and staff were off-the-charts impressive. We are planning to return in early 2013, soon after our wedding.

Thanks again for a perfect weekend.

The area is very nice and it was a convenient stop over on our way from Las Vegas to San Francisco. However, at 248 dollars for the night I question whether it was worth the money. The room included breakfast that is taken in a very cramped room next to what looks like the office so the best bet is to grab what you want and take it back to your room. Breakfast consisted of melon (3 varieties), yogurt, bagels that were running out, hard boiled eggs and cereal. There were one or two other bits and pieces and orange juice and coffee.
The room, the Morro Rock Suite had a small side balcony overlooking the car park with nice views of Morro Rock but its location, certainly when we visited meant that it was always in the shade.
The room itself was quite compact with a reasonable bathroom, coffee making facilities and a living flame gas fire that was a nice addition.
However, the bed was the smallest we experienced on our three week trip of California, it was probably the equivalent of a UK Queen size bed, smaller than a King.
All in all, a nice stop over but we wouldn't return as there are much better options in the area for approximately half the cost. We stayed at the Kon Tiki Inn at Pismo Beach on the way down and that was absolutely stunning for a fraction of the money we paid for the Estero Inn.

Room Tip: If you want to stay at the Estero Inn, pay the extra and get a room with a balcony on the first floo...

Perfect spot in Morro Bay. The Inn is at one end of the main drag and right on the water. The old fishing village atmosphere is preserved, along with peace and quiet. The Marine Suite feels like a spacious home, with a beautiful bed, dresser, fireplace, and kitchen. The view from the room is lovely on all sides. Wow. Across the walkway is the breakfast service and dining area. It was the most convenient setup I've ever seen. You can make your own belgian waffles. Had a great stay.

Room Tip: The rooms are all good.
