“Made an already great weekend PERFECT!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2011

Great little inn right on the water. My girlfriend (now wife!) and I stayed on the second floor in the Ocean View room. I let the staff know I was planning on proposing that weekend, and they really did a great job of making the room very special for us. Champagne on ice, roses, and chocolates - all waiting for us in the room when we checked in! I would definitely recommend the Estero Inn to anyone. I do recommend getting a second floor room on the West or Northwest side.

Room Tip: Get a room on the second floor, facing the rock!

A really friendly welcome at Reception. Our room was on the first floor, overlooking the rock - a nice big room, spotlessly clean, and a fantastically comfortable, large bed. Breakfast the next morning was a help-yourself affair downstairs, which suited us very well indeed - some fresh fruit salad and a couple of toasted bagels. Morro Bay wouldn't be my first choice to stay in again, there's not much to it beyond the power station and the big rock lump, and I'd probably go up or down the coast instead to somewhere more picturesque, but this is a good choice

We stayed one night in Morro Bay as part of a road trip. The room and view at the Estero were lovely, the only thing that could be improved on was the "welcome" at reception. Sadly it was if we were interrupting the guys day.
However, that aside we enjoyed our stay, the room and the hotel location were perfect. Morro Bay is small and quiet - we loved the peacefullness, and the fact that you can sit and watch the boats, seals and pelicans all going by.
Breakfast was continental, in a self serve room that had more than enough choice for us.
It's a lovely walk round to the rock and the beach, and there are several good fish restaurants to choose from - you definatley can tell that the fish is fresh!

Room Tip: All the rooms have balconies with stunning views!

This was our 2nd from last stop on our tour of California before heading back to Sydney! The service was friendly, the room and bathroom were emaculate (loved the towel elephant), good views of the Rock at sunset and the restaurant recommendation of 'The Gallery' along the high street was our best meal of the holiday! Just wish we could have stayed longer!

My husband proposed to me in Morro Bay on the balcony at Estero Inn overlooking the ocean. It was incredible. The owner is fantastic! Once he found out that my husband was going to propose, he went out of his way and filled the room with roses and champagne to make the day special for us. He was very knowledgable and accommodating throughout our stay. The Inn itself has beautiful views, the rooms are very tastefully decorated and bed are very comfortable. We come to Morro Bay often and will stay here every time we do. What a great experience!

We were lucky to find this little gem right at the waterfront. The room was quite small but very cosy. Nice interior, very clean with a cosy fireplace. They offered us a free kayak. We paddled over to the opposite beach and had a wonderful walk over the dunes. So nice!
The service was excellent. Very kind and helpful.
Only lack was the breakfast - a little meager but ok.
We highly recommend to stay at this wonderful little hotel.

I found $220 for a night in this bayside hotel too much. We had a OK stay here, the room is nicely decorated and the size is OK (not so big). We had a small balcony (nice, but unfortunately at this price still no good view at the bay). We had breakfast included, which is not very common in the US, but it was quite basic, some neat self-service waffles though.
The hotel advertises with sound-proof buiding, well... it's not soundproof unfortunately. But the area is not too noisy luckily.
