“Amazing views of sea otters at play”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2009

What a great place! Spacious clean rooms with a cozy fireplace and balconies that provide amazing views of the bay and Morro Rock . . . added delight to watch the seals and sea otters at play. Fantastic location at the end of the Embarcadero providing a quiet atmosphere but just a lovely stroll to word-class restaurants and shops along a newly built boardwalk that leads you on a picturesque walk to Morro Rock. The staff was friendly and very accomodating. Mike was especially helpful on several occasions. Oh, can't forget the exceptional continental breakfast on the third floor with views and the window cleaners in the parking garage are just those added bonuses. Embarcadero Inn is a great value providing you with atmosphere, relaxation and wonderful memories.

Having booked ourselves into a disappointing motel, we went in search of a better place to spend our vacation. Fortunately, we happened upon the Embarcadero Inn in Morro Bay. Located across the street from the bay, this hotel is a fine place to stay. Very clean rooms. Offering all the usual amenities, such as in-room coffee maker, hair dryer, comfy beds, refrigerator, plus goodies such as a gas fireplace, ocean view balcony with chairs and table, and a nice continental breakfast every morning. We availed ourselves of one of the 2 jacuzzi tubs, which was very clean and not overly-chlorined. Free on-site parking. Security building with keyed elevator and stairways. Convenient to all the shopping and restaurants. We highly recommend the Embarcadero Inn and look forward to returning there ourselves.

After reading many reviews I booked at this motel. This is a no frills motel that in my opinion, is not worth the money. It had average to below average but fairly clean rooms, the spa was not working, the internet access was only in the breakfast room, and even then, we couldn't access it. The location is the only thing this motel has going for it.

We stayed here for one night whilst driving route 1. The rooms are large and very comfortable, with nice views of the bay, and much better decorated than chain hotels/motels. The rooms are very quiet and the beds very comfy, so you can be sure of a good night's sleep. The complimentary breakfast was much better than most. The girl who checked us in really couldn't be bothered, but we only had to deal with her once. This place is a little pricier than the chain motels on the outskirts of town, but I think it's worth the extra.

Morro Bay isn't a particularly special or pretty place, but was a very convenient halfway point on our drive from Monteray Bay to Santa Barbara.

Wow, the room was huge. I only stayed there one night to attend a wedding but it was really clean, and I liked how they were trying to be eco friendly with their bathroom amenities. Also has a Dvd player, that I later learned you can borrow movies from the front desk to watch as well as a fridge, microwave etc.

I really liked the breakfast, it has a whole room dedicated for bagels, toast, cinnimon rolls and the coffee was tasty. Everything also is walking distance to the famous rock!

Stayed in room 304; partial view of the Bay, couldn't see the Rock but room was only $85; full view of rock was $125. Queen beds were comfortable; had fitted bottom sheet which was a plus; bed linens were clean and in good condition. Room was large with small frig, TV, and DVD player. Bathroom had separate sink and separate shower/toilet rooms; lighting over sink was poor and couldn't do makeup; towels were plump and absorbent. Had a small balcony with two chairs and a table. Directly across from the hotel is a small boat repair yard; luckily they were quiet until about 8:30 AM when they did start grinding and clinking. Continental breakfast 7-10 AM was in room on third floor with a full view of the rock; had danish, bagels, two kinds of cereal; oatmeal, juices, microwave, apples; was good. Overall good value and we'd come back.

We have gone to Morro Bay several times and stayed in various places but this time we stayed at Embarcadero Inn in a third floor room with a balcony overlooking the water. Amazing sunsets right in front of us and Morro Rock to the right of us...

The room was great, very spacious, with a fireplace, sofa, small table and chairs, very nice bathroom, microwave, small frig, coffee pot, etc. It was wonderful. Self serve continental breakfast is available also in a third floor setting with a nice view, but we took ours back to our room and ate on the balcony. Although the wireless access doesn't work in all rooms, it worked just fine in ours.

The hotel is located at the end of the Embarcadero where it's quiet and away from the touristy areas but within 5 minutes walking at the most to restaurants. If you have a car, drive up Morro Bay Rd to Giancarlo's for a great dinner! Also, you can drive about 15 minutes to the most amazing hiking in Montano de Oro State Park...Not to miss!

The people at this hotel are helpful and everything about it was great! I won't stay anywhere else in the future.
