“Don't tell!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2014

Don't tell anyone how nice the accommodations were, how close to the joys of Morro Bay, how pleasant the staff was, how private and quiet, my view....shhhhh! I want to keep this gem to myself. Shhhhhh!

From all the accolades this hotel received, I expected far better. We usually stay at the Blue Sail Inn, but this was a last minute trip, so it was sold out. I decided to book us here because I can usually rely on trip advisor. The view advertised looked good as well. I've attached what are actually view was...which supposedly we paid extra for a "premium" view. The rooms are spacious...almost a lot of wasted space. Maybe could redesign layout to make table and couch more useful. The reception was pleasant and the offer of dvd's to watch was nice as well. Found it very disturbing that our cc info was written down on a piece of paper: very insecure and unprofessional. The hotel is right on the main street and next to the marina. It was the start of salmon fishing season so the noise from all the equipment early in the am was loud. (At blue sail inn, your higher up and over so you don't hear all that) the breakfast was typical hotel American continental breakfast...old mealy apples, cereal, etc. horrible farmer brothers coffee. Maybe I would've enjoyed this more IF it was priced about $60 less/night...but at the rates we paid, look elsewhere.

Thank you for your feedback on your recent stay with us. Our guest’s comments help us as we continually upgrade the Inn to the likes of today’s discriminating travelers, providing a great waterfront experience. The hotel is located directly across from the Bay, with views of small fishing community from the private balconies. It’s hard to get much closer to the water or Tidelands Park. Because Morro Bay is a working fishing harbor with all the associated action, there’s bound to be some noisy moments and we apologize for that inconvenience. The great part about this harbor is that you can see first-hand what it takes to bring the freshest fish to your table –available in many of the restaurants in Morro Bay. We also want to provide our guests with the freshest fare that is seasonally available in our continental breakfast. We have options that are gluten-free, made-to-order waffles, and locally-sourced baked goods and granolas, not typically offered in other places. We serve freshly made and piping hot coffee to the delight of most of our guests. We also serve a variety of teas, hot chocolate and juices. We hope your next visit to Morro Bay is pleasing and that you’ll give us another try.

We loved our 2 night stay at this hotel. You could see the water from our lovely big room and we had a balcony with chairs and a table so we could soak up the sea air. Well located with friendly staff. The complimentary breakfast was delicious with a good range of goods. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The rooms are comfortable and cozy. Great water pressure in the shower. The view from the rooms with a view are spectacular. The complimentary breakfast is great. Only downfall is that the parking is tight and limited. This hotel is always at the top of our list!

We're so glad you decided to stay with us and that you enjoyed your stay. Our parking lot was created long ago, and continues to be the only covered parking in the area. We hope you used our windshield washer amenity provided to our guests free of charge. Looking forward to seeing you again soon.

The rooms are large with all the typical amenities . We had a great view of the harbor, a complimentary bottle of wine and free breakfast. We were lucky enough to have great weather since Morro Bay gets more than its share of fog. The room is pretty warm at night so leaving the sliding glass door open was a plus.

Room Tip: Look for specials. All rooms face the water , but some are better than others.

We have been enjoying Morro Bay for about 30 years now. It makes a wonderful weekend getaway, or a wonderful stop between San Francisco and LA. The only place we ever stay is Embarcadero Inn! The rooms are spacious & clean and the balcony views are wonderful. The staff is friendly and helpful with suggestions on things to do and it's a short walk to shops & restaurants. And to top this off, they even offer a small serve yourself breakfast in the morning - great if you have kids! The parking is secure and so are the rooms with key operated elevator access. Why stay anywhere else?

Room Tip: Higher floors have a better view of the water activities that go on during the day.
