“Extremly comfortable bed and very romantic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

My husband and I had to find a room while traveling through Morro Bay we were late arrivals and the hotel was very accommodating, The bed was so comfortable and inviting. The room has a nice view with a balcony and a fireplace was so romantic. If we had gotten there earlier I would have enjoyed sitting on the balcony looking at the ocean and the shoppers below. Very quiet at night, its as if the streets roll up. The room was very spacious and I would make a return to this hotel in the future. This hotel is great for walking to the gift stores or restaurants. Dorn's Café a must for any traveler for breakfast. they had a nice continental breakfast set up but we preferred to have a full breakfast at Dorn's Café I really appreciate having glass coffee mugs in the room instead of Styrofoam.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 2nd floor, but if you need a better view of the ocean ask for a 3rd floor room. th...

Upon arrival you are warmly greeted and handed this strange metal object. You gaze at it in wonder, conscious of the fact that you've seen one before. It's... it's... keys! They actually use real keys here and not those cards we're all so used to. How quaint.

So every room has a water view, though the upper floor has the best. The staff is super nice and helpful and FAST. I swear they brought my requested plates and utensils to the room in under 2 minutes.

Likes =
1.Location. Less than a block from all the shops and restaurants.
2.Parking. It's covered and felt secure. They provide squeegees to remove the millions of suicidal bugs from your long drive.
3.Rooms are spacious and clean and have some nice, although not top of the line, amenities.

Dislikes =
1. Thin walls. I know. It's a motel. But if it's trash day, you'll know. And when the children of idiot parents decide to run up and down the halls squealing "AAAARRRRGGGCCKKYYYRRRRR"... you'll know.
2. Coffee mugs. They look like the cute glasses you get specialty coffee drinks in. They're not big enough or sturdy enough. Some may not care. Some of us are serious about coffee.
3. Showers. And it wasn't just me. My very masculine MMA training husband thought the shower was terrifying. A painful stream of jumbo jet propulsions shot from that teeny nozzle. The temperature was erratic, and the flow was painful. The force of the water mixed with the flow of the ceiling fan created a sort of wind tunnel suction that stuck the creepy filmy shower curtain to your body. I'm not exaggerating. It was scary. Neither of us stayed in there very long.
Also, the auto dispensers of shampoo and such is a nice eco-conscious idea, but I still don't know what they had in the body wash section. It didn't lather and it smelled like hospital disinfectant.

I would stay here again, it's a nice hotel with a decent price for the area. But I won't be showering here if I can help it.

Room Tip: Get top floor for best views

We stayed here for a birthday weekend extravaganza and had a lot of fun in Morro Bay and the Cayucos a nearby town, (stay there instead of Morro Bay.) The rooms are nice but you can hear others through the walls, its a little pricey for the area, and the breakfast was not that great, so no savings there. We noticed many of the rooms were overcrowded with multiple children, the room next to us had five people. The spa was kind of a joke and just remember this is a fully enforced NO-SMOKING property, and be prepared to spend $500 USD if caught. It think this is really stupid considering many of the rooms have balconies. It is noisy even early in the morning we had cars starting at 4:30 am and on going to the loading ramp. Net/Net: this place isn't worth $200 a night.

Room Tip: Go to Off the Hook for lunch and dinner and the Otter Rock Cafe for music at night.

We stayed there in May of 2012 to see the car show, and eat at Shawn's on Main (our favorite restaurant in the central coast). This was our first stay, as we usually stay in Baywood Inn in Los Osos. But the drive back to that place can be a bit dark at night. Embarcadero was a perfect stroll to where all of the action was in downtown Morro Bay, right across the street from the water. We stayed in a King Full view w/ Fireplace, and couldn't have been happier with the room. Breakfast was continental style, and make your own waffles. Fine for a single morning, but on our departure we made sure to stop at The Sculpture Egg for a real breakfast. We'll stay here again.

The rooms are nice and large. The beds are comfortable and we had a beautiful view. It's very quiet. Rooms come equipped with microwave and small refrigerator. They also have a fan in every room which I appreciate. There is a hot tub which we didn't use but will in the future. The hotel is close to all of downtown Morro Bay. We just walked in on a Wednesday and were given a beautiful room and a super discounted price. Well below the posted rates. I would stay here again and again.

Room Tip: We were on the second floor in the middle of the hotel and it was very quiet.

The view I had requested was not available when I arrived which didn't make me happy, however I was given a up grade to a suite and a reduction in rate during my stay, the décor is quite dated and in need of major improvements, the plumbing is terrible you can hear showers and toilets flush in the rooms adjacent and below when they are used As advertised the Embarcadero does have ocean views however most are very limited.

The location is good for walking to the restaurants and stores along Embarcadero.

This was our first time staying in Morro Bay. We loved it! It was quiet, relaxing and very beautiful! The Embarcadero Inn was perfect! There were no king bedrooms left, so we took a 2-queen room and this was no problem. (We booked only one week in advance). Our room faced the bay and because it was on the third floor, we had a perfect view of Morro Rock and the water with boats. We had a balcony with chairs which we sat on and enjoyed the sunset our first evening.

The girls at the front desk were super sweet and nice; very helpful with anything we needed. Emily even shipped me my hair dryer I left behind.

Free movies we borrowed to watch on the easy-to-use VCR and flat-screen TV. Our room was VERY spacious! The fireplace was just enough heat and the cozy ambiance was romantic for our 30th wedding anniversary.

The shower had great water pressure. The room had a small frig and microwave. It was clean. The bed was too soft, but we are just used to a hard bed at home. It was all we needed...perfect. :-)

We hiked up Black Hill Trail. It was the perfect hike. It took us 2.5 hours to walk to the top from the hotel (stopped a lot to take photos). Another day we walked to Morro Rock and back, stopping to eat dinner at the Great American Fish Company, which was delicious! There are many adorable shops and a yummy cinnamon roll shop.

We will be back to this lovely, peaceful, quiet, relaxing place and will stay at the Embarcadero Inn again.

Room Tip: Ask for third floor, facing water, with balcony sticking out. It was very quiet. All we heard was...
