“Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

Big white rooms with Ocean view, very friendly service, clean and spacious.
We were surprised to find Morrow Bay such a nice little town. Location is great. Sea sports, restaurants, little shops and wonderful views.
Very good restaurant attached to the hotel.
Service was very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Great little town - best surprize of the trip:)

From the time I called to book a room at Anderson Inn until we left - the service is excellent. Molly and Jeff are so nice and a delight to visit with. The rooms are large and each one have a view of the ocean and Morro Bay Rock. They are so willing to help with whatever you need. From tips of things to see or taking pictures for you. Such a beautiful location to see and hear the seals, watch the sail boats, fishing boats and enjoy the town. Make sure you enjoy one or more nights at Anderson Inn!!

Similarly to other people, we only stayed here for one night during a road trip, but i wish we had stayed longer. As soon as you arrived it felt as though the brother and sister team that ran it were welcoming you into their home. They were so friendly and personable and couldn't do enough for you. The room was lovely, very spacious and amazing views of the bay (which unfortunately we didn't see thanks to that pesky fog!).

They even gave us extra water supplies and some fruit for the next leg of our journey. The only problem, in our rush to leave so early, we forgot to leave a tip so hopefully his review will make up for that a bit!

The only bad thing about the Anderson Inn is we only stayed for one night. It was just great! This family-owned and run motel is perfectly located on the harbor at Morro Bay almost directly across from Morro Rock. It's a perfect place for watching the sail boats, pelicans, sea lions, fishing boats, and other marina activities. The rooms are great. The Anderson family has made sure every detail is perfect in your room. You'll think you're staying in a five-star resort when you enter the room, but it also has the "beach" feel that's so much fun. Their restaurant downstairs is the best in town and is just outstanding. You will love quaint Morro Bay and this charming motel.

We stayed at the Anderson Inn for a night during our trip from San Francisco to Los Angeles. We were greeted on arrival with a very friendly welcome and shown to our rooms immediately. Both rooms were immaculately presented and we had a lovely corner room with sea view. I had not appreciated quite how special this place would be until we sat on the balcony with a glass of wine watching the sealions swim by and taking in the complete tranquillity of Morro Bay. This stop-over became so much more and was probably the highlight of our fortnight in California. Well done to Molly and Jeff for showing such attention to detail for every aspect of our stay and making such a memorable part of our holiday.

Room Tip: We had a top floor, corner room with full view of the rock. Worth every penny !

This is a great little secret in a wonderful little fishing village.. Get room 201 and watch the natural beauty of seals, pelicans and otters. Woke up to the diving pelicans searching for breakfast...howling harbour seals...this is a treat. The owners care, this is a fabulous blast from the past. By gone days of iconic great service. Classical music greets you with a family caring service.
MOrro Bay is a sanctuary....

Room Tip: ask for the waterfront views

Stopped off for the night on a trip from SF to LA. Molly and Geoff were the most welcoming hosts and made my wife and I and our two children incredibly welcome. It wasn't corporate platitudes or empty spiel but genuine hospitality.
Our room was large, clean, comfortable and with a great view of the bay and we really felt at home.
Morro Bay is small but has some great restaurants (Rocca's Shack for good value burgers and the like, Giovanni's for excellent fish, particularly the halibut burritos) and a charming beach and townscape. Nearby Montana De Oro national park is very much worth seeing, as is the small natural history museum.
