“All good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012

Morro Bay is a bit of a tourist trap - complete with seafront of shops selling tat. However, despite ominous approach we had a great night here. The inn is clean and very comfortable - with everything we needed. We had a room with a great view and balcony out over the bay.

However, the food in Morro Bay made our stay. An exceptional dinner at the Galley, followed by the best breakfast I've ever had in the US at Frankie & Lola's... for a very reasonable price.

It is an inn not a luxury hotel - but its all the better for it.

I agree with all of the other excellent reviews. This place is just as a hotel should be. The Anderson family are the nicest people. The hotel is right on the sea. The rooms are beautifully decorated in pale colours. A lot of thought has been put into detail - blankets, binoculars, etc. We stayed in one of the corner rooms with a view over the rock which was breath taking. We slept to the noise of the sea lions outside and woke to mist over the bay. Don't miss a stay here. There isn't a pool I clicked the stars by mistake!

Anderson Inn is the perfect combination of gorgeous bayfront or over-water rooms, beautifully detailed room interiors, luxurious amenities, and hospitality. My husband and I have come back repeatedly, and I can't think of any place where inside comfort and the beauty of the outdoors blend so seamlessly. The boisterous harbor seals, marine birds, sea otters, sailboats, and ocean air provide a magical marine backdrop to this wonderfully comfortable inn. As other reviewers have already commented, the high thread count sheets, robes, fireplaces, comfy chairs, beautiful colors/lighting and lovely bathrooms make any stay here a real treat. But, there's more. In a world where so many places have become impersonal, the Anderson family has created a place to come home to, where first time guests and repeated guests alike all feel genuinely welcomed and very much at home. Jeff and Mollie are simply wonderful, and their gift of enthusiasm and caring has put a stamp of originality on this inn that can't be duplicated anywhere else. We are so sorry to leave, and are already dreaming of our next trip back.
BTW, the food at the Galley Seafood Restaurant downstairs is delish-don't miss......

This wonderful inn is a gem! The innkeepers are so helpful and genuinely nice. The room was perfect - great bed, exquisite linens, lighting perfect, shower terrific, vaulted ceilings, reading lamps on both sides of the bed, plenty of places to put things, refrigerator, robes, QUIET. Our room (208) was on the end, so only one shared wall. It has a nice view of Morro Rock and the small street. If you can, the rooms overlooking the water would be great to book, but all 8 are fine. Cute town, too!

Room Tip: Roooms over the water are great, but all 8 are lovely.

I spent only one night here which was not enough. the room was thoughtfully appointed and boasted everything you could possibly want, including a fireplace. My balcony (over the water) had spectacular views of the Rock, the sea birds flying past, the sea lions. the wecome from Geoff and Molly (brother and sister, this is a family hotel) was so warm and friendly. comfortable bed, fabulous spa bath, I will definitely be coming back here! LOVELY

Room Tip: splurge on an over the water room it is worth it for that fantastic view

I read a review about the Anderson Inn that said 'my wife cried when we had to leave' and I now understand what the reviewer meant. We stayed there for 2 nights on our trip down the coast to Los Angeles and we wished we had stayed longer. The room was fantastic - beautifully clean with a view over the bay to Morro Rock. The walk in shower and jacuzzi bath were fantastic - I couldn't get my son out! The view across the bay is fantastic with seal lions, sea otters and pelicans fishing in the water below our balcony. The best thing about the Anderson Inn though are the family who own it. They are wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble and they treated my son like one of their own. I cannot rate this inn highly enough! We are definitely coming back.

Room Tip: The premium views have balconies over the water and are worth the extra money ii less you are a ligh...

We were welcomed to the Anderson Inn by Molly, Geoff and Roger and they were the best hosts of our whole stay in America.
The Anderson Inn came highly recommended by another couple from our home city who also travelled the Pacific coast highway as part of their honeymoon.
We really did feel like part of a big family when Molly greeted us.Her enthusiasm for the area and their business is without bounds and it is really infectious.
Our room was exceptionally clean with two terraces for our sole use. The bathroom was huge with a spa like shower with multiple jets. The towels were white and fluffy and the range of bath products were quality.
Molly, Geoff and Roger really know their area and are full of tips for places to visit.
We ate both nights in the fabulous restaurant under the Anderson inn, the Galley. Top class seafood cooked simply and to perfection so you can really appreciate the depth of flavours. The staff were very friendly and made us feel special. We hadn't planned to eat here both nights but the setting is beautiful and the menu so tempting we could not go just once.
Try Frankie and Lola's for a great breakfast menu.
The Anderson Inn is most definetly worth a visit, we can't wait to return.
