Although the Asian meat-and-rice bowl fare is steady, reliable and inexpensive, I didn't really get very excited about Big Bowl. Yet it was clean, offered an easy menu and service was crisp & pleasant. About half the menu was sushi, served from a side bar off the main counter. The Monk (that's me!) will save his sushi desires for a more upscale venue.
The actual bowl was real ceramic - not styro - and I credit them for that. However the chicken breast meat I ordered seemed a bit tough and, personally, the sticky rice wasn't all that appealing. Coke products were available. Parking was OK but they don't have a web site yet. Most customers were there for "foo-to-go", meaning take-out. I don't think Big Bowl is a franchise operation at this time.
Bottom line: The very inexpensive Big Bowl provides a fair Japanese or Asian meal if you are in a hurry and can't spend much. Just don't set high expectations.
