The fine location on fairly quiet street half-way between Aquarium and Wharf (10 minute pleasant walk to wide variety of restaurants – ask desk clerk for recommendation that includes free appetizer) helped justify a room price of over $200 a night. The back room we specifically reserved was occupied, so a comparable room on the street was provided and the accommodating desk staff volunteered to move our luggage on 2nd day. The room was not as noisy as we feared, so we stayed there. This premier double room offered a high ceiling, plenty of room, lovely fireplace, bright lighting, 2 sinks, refrigerator, honor bar, huge flat screen TV, great sitting area in bay window with a table big enough for 2 laptops. Free slow Internet was offered with $4 upgrade for faster service. Despite TA reviews indicating we might not find seating at more than adequate breakfast, we had no problem.
The shower did need water pressure, a dresser with drawers that didn’t pull off when pulled out (as it was, dresser was non-functional), plus signage as the layout is odd thus finding one’s way, frustrating. I’d certainly stay there again.
Room Tip: Splurge for the large premier room with fireplace. 2nd floor even on Foam Street was quiet.

I am happy to hear that, though the same room wasn’t available during your whole stay, both rooms you stayed in were comfortable, and left such a positive impression. Regarding your comments about the dresser, please know that we are in the process of replacing the dressers in all of our guest rooms. Many have already been upgraded, along with the other furniture and décor, and the remaining rooms will be completed by the first weeks of February.
