Terrific hotel, comfortable rooms. Best part is the hot tub on the 4th floor overlooking the ocean.
There are issues with wifi on mobile devices (my iPad and my husband's iPod touch) but our laptops picked up the signal no problem. Trouble shooted Internet issue directly with service provider but it was still a low signal on above mentioned devices.

Beautiful rooms and views. Breakfast was always on time. Staff was friendly and courteous. The aquarium package was a great deal and within walking distance.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Our room was comfortable and spacious with a view across the harbour with the morning sun shining into our room. Good location for seeing Monterey. Lots of great golf courses nearby.

This hotel may be small and not really look like much on the outside (the elevator is kind of old and your walk to your room is not enclosed), but the rooms have been re-done and are BEAUTIFUL! Honestly, I think this hotel puts their money in to the important things for their customers like comfort, service, and pleasure! LOVED the ocean view!! And the complimentary breakfast was delivered right when we wanted it. The front desk staff really know the town and are very knowledgeable. Plus, because it's small, you're treated extra special--much more like a guest instead of a customer. We even checked out some of the other hotels in the area to compare our hotel room with the others, even going into the hotel rooms--none of them even came close to the comfort & elegant style of MBI's rooms and many were more money. I don't usually write reviews, but I HAD to leave one for this hotel. It was PHENOMENAL!! We are planning on only staying here every time we visit Monterey!
