Beautiful rooms and views. Breakfast was always on time. Staff was friendly and courteous. The aquarium package was a great deal and within walking distance.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Our room was comfortable and spacious with a view across the harbour with the morning sun shining into our room. Good location for seeing Monterey. Lots of great golf courses nearby.

This hotel may be small and not really look like much on the outside (the elevator is kind of old and your walk to your room is not enclosed), but the rooms have been re-done and are BEAUTIFUL! Honestly, I think this hotel puts their money in to the important things for their customers like comfort, service, and pleasure! LOVED the ocean view!! And the complimentary breakfast was delivered right when we wanted it. The front desk staff really know the town and are very knowledgeable. Plus, because it's small, you're treated extra special--much more like a guest instead of a customer. We even checked out some of the other hotels in the area to compare our hotel room with the others, even going into the hotel rooms--none of them even came close to the comfort & elegant style of MBI's rooms and many were more money. I don't usually write reviews, but I HAD to leave one for this hotel. It was PHENOMENAL!! We are planning on only staying here every time we visit Monterey!

My wife and I stayed in this hotel with another couple from overseas. We were very pleasantly surprised when we walk into our rooms. unlike the small lobby the room was spacious, wonderful harbour view and the bathroom...my wife loved the bathroom! The bathroom was big with two sinks and she was so happy not to have to share a sink with me! women... ;-)

Our friends' room was the same and they were awestruck, being the first time in US and in California, they absolutely love the room and the view!

In the morning we had breakfast on the balcony listening to the seals, although, we had to come inside when the seagulls wanted to share our breakfast!

We really enjoyed coming back to the hotel after driving around and sightseeing coast and the aquarium. I highly recommend this hotel.
