“Comfortable, perfect location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2014 via mobile

We stayed here for 2 nights, stayed on 2 nd floor with the pool and jacuzzi which was very nice after being in the car all day. This was very comfortable with good shower facilities, clean and fresh linens. located near everything including the free coach that takes you around monterey. The fishermans wharf is nearby, along with the beach and lots of bars and restaurants. This is a good standard of hotel and I would stay here again.

Great Location, easy and enjoyable walk to the wharf (be ready for free chowder samples) and to beaches, harbor and attractions.

Great staff - very helpful and enjoyable, they seem to really enjoy their jobs, good breakfast (jean is a delightful waitress)

If visiting the aquarium make sure to get tickets at the front desk it allows you to walk right in ... no standing in any lines. OUTSTANDING Services, we felt like Royals. It is a little walk but very pleasant to the aquarium and there is a free trolley to and from. The Aquarium was very impressive. We went early and then went back to hotel and returned in the evening, avoiding the big crowds.

The pool is nothing to write home about approx 3 feet deep but it was nice to float around and relax.

Did I mention the great location...several restraunts and shops with in short enjoyable walks.

If staying for one or two nights there is low cost parking a block away.

Room Tip: Bring some ear plugs the sea gulls can be load in the morning. The hotel trys to minimize with dete...

How bad can you be when you wake up in Monterey in a nice bed with nice people around you? Walk down the street and eat at Rosene's and have dinner at the Monterey Fish House. You will thank your stomach for leading you there. This is a good hotel with a great location and nice surroundings. walk everywhere

Room Tip: I like the upper floors and will pay extra

Very nice Marriott hotel, rooms were up-to-date, clean and comfortable. Valet parking was reasonable at $24 daily. We did not eat any meals at the hotel. The pool and hot tub were outdoors so it was a tad bit cool, but they were both well-maintained and good size. Fitness center was also in good condition with a nice open view to the pool deck. They have a single washing machine and dryer set in case you need to do laundry, but be prepared to wait in line!

We stopped here with the kids after few days in San Francisco and before going in the South.
Monterey itself does not worth a stop except if you are an avid golfer (a lot of nice golf courses nearby).
The hotel is a typical Marriot, not surprise.
Pros: the staff was awesome, very committed and super friendly, breakfast is good, beds are good.
Cons: room was just ok.

Thank you for stopping in and staying with us. Monterey is indeed good for golfers, but also for food and wine lovers. Next time you stay with us, check with our concierge and you'll get great recommendations on what to do while you're here. I appreciate your comments.

We were only there for 1 night on our California road trip but liked the hotel... Jamie at the Front Desk was very helpful and although she couldn't accommodate our room request fully .. she gave us nice rooms. These were spacious and clean. The hotel is approx 15 mins walk from the Aquarium but allows you to see the boats and Cannery Row. Valet parking is a little pricey at $24 per night but attendants were helpful and prompt so worth it. Stay here if you're in the area :)

Room Tip: Try not to be too far from the elevators ... Long corridors !!

My husband and I recently spent a night here as I was in town for work. I greatly appreciated the fantastic state worker price and was very happy with our comfy room. I am very picky about cleanliness and this hotel room was very clean! Restaurants and local bars are a super short walk away. Some have complained about valet parking price, I agree it is high and so we opted for street parking. There is nearby street parking that is 2 hour from 9am-6pm, outside of those hours you are good to go. We parked after 6 and were able to leave our car til 11am the next day. The walls are somewhat thin so in the morning we heard some people walk by but really nothing too crazy!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 460, very far from elevators!
