lobby,breakfast bar and business center all togather in one small space with 2 outside doors opening into it...they were automatic so every time someone walked by they opened and kept it cold all the time .. also let in the cigarette smoke .. the desk with the computor had a chair that was so low I had to use 2 cushions from the couch to get high enough to type...and this was right in front of the door ..
The room was only average.. took forever for the water to get warm enough to shower .. the bathroom never seemed to get warm .. the beds were hard and I felt like my head was lower then my feet .. just didnt feel comfortable or cozy...
Breakfast was great .. the best of all my trip..

We only stayed at this hotel for one evening, but found it to be clean, comfortable, and convenient to all attractions

This hotel was a great deal with exellent customer service the rooms had a microwave a frig and a great view face a lake.The only problem we had was that the room had 1 king bed and a sofa sleeper and the sofa sleeper had too many springs inside it.But overall this was a great place.

This was our first stay here, we usually stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Marina, about 5 miles north (outstanding hotel by-the-way, we've always been very happy with our stays there). We wanted something closer so that we wouldn't have to do so much driving. For some reason, the HIE was charging almost double the weekend we wanted to stay, so we decided on LQ. It is not as new as other LQs, but did not disappoint. Exceptionally clean rooms-only complaint was the curtains needed a wash-but other then that...spotless! no weird odors, etc. We were across from the elevator & worried about noise....but very quiet rooms, and the hotel was pretty busy that weekend. Got upgraded when we checked in, which was nice...can't speak for the rooms that face the highway, may be a bit noisy....
Staff was very friendly and helpful answering our questions, free breakfast was o.k., nice waffles, basic continental breakfast. We liked the proximity to the wharf & aquarium, you can also walk to the beach from the hotel..about a 5 minute walk...that was lovely and saw a great sunset. There's no pool/hot tub, but there's lots to see & do around Monterey, so if you just need a decent place to sleep, this is it, can't be the price, and will definitely consider this hotel for our next visit.
