Despite it's older appearance on the outside, the rooms are nicely done and are clean. I looked at most hotels in the area and this proved to have the best value. I would stay here again if I made it back to Monterey. It was in a very central location which made it easy to get to downtown Monterey and even 17-mile drive within a few minutes. 5-star accommodations and service? Absolutely not. All the basic essentials you need? Absolutely. You can't beat the value you'll get here.

This was the best Super 8 we have ever visited. Well maintained inside and out. Beautiful flowers! Very affordable for the area. Easy access to Hwy 1 for touring the town and surrounding area. Large high quality outdoor shopping mall across the street with restaurants, theatres, and Whole Foods Market. Convenient laundromat around the corner. Breakfast area was only a build-in bar in the lobby and overcrowded, but balanced out by the quality of accomodations and helpfulness of hotel staff. This will be our top choice for future visits to Monterey.

We checked in at about 10 pm. We had reservations and the desk clerk was waiting on us to arrive. He gave us maps of the area and made some suggestions about the area and then we went to our room. The next morninig at the continental breakfast we talked with the same desk clerk again. He made some good suggestions for how we should spend our day and again gave us more maps to find our way. The room was decent, the pillows were fine.. the breakfast was ok.. I would definitely go back to this hotel if i were ever in the area again. iIt was clean and comfortable and the service was very good.
