“This hotel was my best experience I have ever had.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2010

The service was very professional and very prompt. We called for room service and received it in about 15 minutes. The food was amazing!!! The room was very clean. We were on the 1st floor and had beach access. We were actually about 20 ft from the ocean. We had the opportunity to see a group of seals and dolphins playing. They were pretty close toi the beach and were jumping up and down for aboiut 30 minutes. It was amazing; we were able to see this from our room. You could go to this hotel as a couple get away or as a fami;ly. Also, it was not that far at all to the Monterey famous Cannery Row and the Aquarium. This hotel was awsome, and very affordable.

THe hotel is right on the beach, only steps from the ocean. THe view from our window was gorgeous from sun up to sun down. THe first time ever for all of us to fall asleep and wake up with the sound of the waves(real one). The price was unbeatable, could be because of the winter time. Definitely will go back whenever I could.

The ocean/bay view was totally amazing from the lobby, the oceanfront rooms, and the beach. The view was worth every penny. The room however was small but with a very large TV on the wall. Too large for such a small room. There was a refrig, and a coffee pot that needed to be moved to be near a plug-in. The carpet and tiles were dirty, but slippers were used. The additional seating was uncomfortable. So we did not stay in the room at all except to sleep. I would stay here again, but only to be able to enjoy time near the waterfront. The lobby had plenty of seating and room to relax, but the tvs were set to specific stations showing sports only. The restaurant was good, but difficult to find since it is on the 4th floor by elevator. Staff was courteous. A very short commute to the airport. There are numerous added fees to the room price quote. Be sure to ask. You will need to pay for parking and other "taxes" or state fees. All in all, it is a good place to consider if looking for lodging in the Monterey area.

We stayed at this hotel the first weekend in October for a wedding. Walking in the lobby you have a gorgeous view of the ocean. Our room was on the non-ocean side but was very spacious, comfortable and well appointed. We enjoyed the resort quite a bit. My only complaint was that since it is a Best Western it seems a little more generic and so the service and amenities don't quite live up to the price and location. Still, all in all a good choice for the area.

Easily accessed from California Highway 1, just North of Monterey, CA. The beach is just out you doorway. If you walk the entire beach, it would be approximately 4 miles. The Monterey Wharf is walkable from the hotel.
Our room was smaller than we had expected, but still nice. We choose an ocean view room and that's is exactly what we got. We could hear the surf, but it did not bother us. We had some difficulty with our in room radio/ipod player, but the tech came immediately to the room to assist us. We did have another difficulty with the room safe, it seemed to change our entry code on its own, we think, but the tech opened it for us and we had no problems with it afterwards. One downside to our week stay was the WiFi. we had the farthest room (370) from the router, therefore was kicked off the internet very frequently and had very poor connectivity (was unable to complete my business).
My wife and I ate dinner at the restaurant, twice during the week long stay. The service was great, setting very nice over looking the ocean, but we were disappointed with the food, not that great for the price.
We didn't use the pool or hot tub, but we did visit that area and it was very clean and the water was clear and blue. We didn't appreciate the $10. per day parking fee, but didn't want to take the chance of parking on the access road nearby.
We will defiantly stay at the Best Western Beach Resort in Monterey again.

Took my daughter on a college tour and we stayed at the Best Western Beach Resort for one night while we visited CSU Monterey Bay. Nice, reasonably priced hotel right on the beach. Literally, right on the beach. We were on the second floor and we had a terrific view of Monterey Bay. The beach was just down the stairs and across the patio - 50 feet from the hotel! The room was nice and clean with comfortable beds. The room was adequately spacious. It also came with free WiFi - now that's a bonus. Parking can be a bit tight at times but it's not really a problem. I was back in Monterey in September for a conference and stayed at the conference hotel - the Hyatt Regency - but would rather have stayed at the Best Western. All in all, a really nice hotel with a great location at a reasonable price.
