“Excellent Meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2013

We had an absolutely excellent meal. The Swordfish was amazing, the service from Sarda was faultless, and what a location too!

“Service not attentive, food less than average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2013 via mobile

Lovely setting, but experience did not live up to trip advisor reviews. Waiter flirting with all his tables and not with readiness of plates waiting for us. Swordfish served dry and over done, shrimp and scallops with the latter undercooked. Finished plates sat around too long and then we waited to see desert menu. Loud patrons not the restaurant's fault but service was!

“Variety and quantity”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2013

My wife and I find quantity of an order is usually too large for us. At this restaurant, we decided to order four varieties, with each dish to be served in two portions. Waitress Sarda gladly complied. The food preparation was excellent. Busboy Gilbert was helpful. We had our variety without being overly stuffed.

“Wonderful Service. Local, Fresh, Inventive Menu.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2013

Rarely is the service as memorable. Our server, Sarda, was smart, knowledgable and clearly interested in making this dinner a special one. She succeeded (assisted by her busboy Gilbert). The menu is based on local and seasonal food. The swordfish and oysters were among the freshest that I have had along the CA coast. The setting is lovely. I would definitely return, and recommend this as a destination for anyone visiting Monterey.

“Lovely at Sunset”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2013

Had not been here since this space was known as The Duck Club. Arrived early on purpose to watch the sunset at 4:51pm from the deck...It was a cool night but there was no breeze. Attentive service. Our table was ready and we were promptly greeted by Nickolas who took care of us for the next nearly 2 hours....Sunday nights in Monterey are not typically busy. At his suggestion we two couples each split the special---a 16 oz steak with perfect asparagus and great potato side. We like ours quite rare; our companions like it WELL done...the dishes arrived together and were perfect for both of us couples. Plenty to eat left no room for some very tempting desserts but we settled for nicely brewed decaf....very nice wine list and good selections by the glass.
All in all, a gem we had ignored too long in Monterey.
We will--WILL--be back.
