I have wanted to see whales in their natural environment for so many years and now that my little grandson is 5 it was the perfect time. We headed out at top speed in the morning until the coastline faded from sight it was a pretty bumpy ride and I could see why children under 5 and pregnant women were not allowed. Once we were out the boat slowed down and we eagerly scanned the water for whales then all of a suddent there they were--2-3 whales(Grey) the boat followed them(at a respectful distance) for over 45 minutes and we were treated to tail slapping and breaching----how wonderful to see them in their world not trapped in some giant aquarium.
The trip back was a much gentler one---(my daughter was especially grateful for that :) ) We all had a wonderful time and were in awe of these magnificent creatures. Excellent commentary was provided throughout the trip by staff who obviously knew their stuff and transmitted their love of the sea and its creatures.
