“Excellent food, reasonable prices”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2010

I am a local, and I think this is one of the best places to eat. The fish is always very fresh, prepared exactly right (I never had anything over- or undercooked), and the prices cannot be beaten. I also buy fresh fish here to cook at home, and the staf are very very knowledgeable and helpful in selecting what you need, filleting or cleaning the fish, etc. It's not a place to celebrate your anniversary, but if you are visiting the area, eat here instead of the tourist traps on the wharf.

“Great fresh sea food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2009

Like your sea food fresh? The Sea Harvest (Monterey, Carmel and Moss Landing, CA) is owned by an assortment of fishermen. The restaurant is also a sea food market, and what you see fresh behind the glass is what you get fresh on your plate. For $14.95 you get a nice cut of fish or other sea food, rice or potatoe, fresh vegetables and soup or salad. You can order a cold beer or a glass of wine, and by the way, they actually fill their wine glasses to the top.
I've never had anything less than excellent at the Sea Harvest, and I try to arrange my schedule so that I can eat there once a week, and that in an area that abounds with good restaurants.

“Acceptable, not as good as formerly”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2009

Ate here for a late lunch, expecting to get the peel and eat steamed shrimp I have had here in the past. Sadly, no longer on the menu. Everything now is pretty much breaded and fried except for fresh oysters, so I settled for a bay shrimp cocktail (not local, appeared to have been frozen) and garlic bread. Not sure I will go back again. Closes at 6:15PM too, so not a good choice for dinner for most.

“superb, local favorite, "a genuine stimulus package!"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2009

we travel to pacific grove more than 10 times a year. Sea Harvest is one place we always eat. (we even rate the Monterey store over Moss Landing, the only other store they have).
we have never had bad food, nor service. they have true empathy. even the local fisherman love to eat there. Sea Harvest is truly a "hidden asset" for anyone to discover!!

“Not great”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2009

Not a great place to eat dinner. Small portions, fish and chips were not spectacular, crab cakes were soggy.
If there is a Costco around, you'd be better off buying your fish there. Halibut at Costco, $10 per lb. at Sea Harvest, $16 for fresh Alaskan Halibut.
Your better off making your own dinner if possible.
Overpriced and under valued.
