We dropped into this mock British Pub at the northern end of Cannery Row, hoping for a quick meal on a Tuesday night. It was not busy - perhaps not a good sign - and things went downhill when the waitress announced that she needed to go out to get another bottle to be able to serve me a glass of shiraz.
We ordered what should have been staple pub food, their so-called "Sterling Burger" and a chicken pot pie. The pie was fine but the burger ranks as the worst I have tasted in years. The waitress asked how I would like it cooked and duly noted the order for a medium rare finish. The end product was grey and tasteless and made no better by the layer of faux-cheddar cheese which adorned it. The meal was redeemed only by the bacon and fries that came with it.
This place and its staff seemed tired at the end of the tourist season and I suggest that if you want a burger you try Johnny Rockets a block down the road.

We are disappointed to hear that you did not enjoy your experience. We apologize for not having a bottle of the shraz. Our burgers are a main focus in our menu, very popular, and usually a guest favorite. We are not sure as to what happened with your order but we hope to have the opportunity to remedy the situation and impress you as we should have the first time! Have a great day. Best Regards, John Eales (Owner)
