“This ain't the Hilton..but it will do”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

Came to Monterey with some friends to go deep sea fishing. I chose this place because it was reasonably priced and walking distance (long walk) to the Wharf. The room was very clean and everything was as I would have expected for $99/night. The pool, however was not heated but it was clean and no other issues. This is a great place to stay if you are passing through Monterey or just want a place to sleep.

booked a 1 room with 2 beds for 4 people a week in advance on their home website. showed up and was told they were out of 1 room 2 bed, so they sent me to sister hotel and said it was closer to everything so i went. When I got there it was actually 15 minutes further away from where we just were. So i called and said that this was unacceptable and request for 2 rooms if they didn't have our 1 room. was told "OK, and there wont be any extra charge". So we went back and then I was told that she never said that to me but they now magically had our 1 room 2 bed free. So we took it and the room was terrible, the smoke detector kept beeping and the beds were not queen size like the website said. Overall this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Motel 6 is better by far.

As others said, this is a cheap, no frills hotel. The room was clean and it's very close to Cannery Row and Fisherman's Wharf. Forget the internet, it's horribly slow. No soap or shampoo, no coffee pot. There is a fridge and microwave. There's no sound proofing (sorry to my neighbors who had to endure my snoring) and sea gulls woke me with their cries.
The rooms were very musty, so avoid if that bothers you.

Room Tip: The rooms in the corner (10 or so) are quietest.

I paid $45 a night for 2 nights, need I say more? I'm a little OCD about hotel cleanliness, the room was fine. It was no frills, no soaps/shampoos, very simple but clean and for that price can you ask for more? There was a fridge and microwave in the room, they had a small breakfast of cereal/coffee in the morning. It was a 10 minute drive from Cannery Row/Monterey Aquarium. The lady at the desk wasn't super helpful, but we didn't need much from her after check in.

Locate in the heart of the monterey peninsula, this hotel has a good cost benefit and can be a great choice either to get to monterey, carmel or santa cruz. Has good confort in its rooms and a spacious parking lot. Breakfest is simple but good.

We stayed for just one night on a Saturday. The location was not too far from downtown. Check in was quick and easy. The room was nice - flat screen tv, comfortable bed, soft sheets. Everything was clean and the furniture seemed new. The continental breakfast in the morning was convenient and just enough for a quick snack before checking out. We'll stay here again.

This is a great budget motel. We stayed for 1 night passing through Monterey. it is located on the main road but no problems with noise. The price was cheap, room & bathroom basic but large and clean. Free parking. if you are looking for a cheap place for a night or 2 and aren't too fussed for anything fancy.. this is great. I would stay again.
