During a two month trip to the US, we had the opportunity to try many budget hotels. This was our favourite. The place was spotlessly clean, the furniture was fresh, and the breakfast, though basic, was nice. It's a few minutes drive from the aquarium and the beach. The manager at the desk was particularly friendly and helpful.

The motel has very clean and quiet rooms. It is only 15 minutes walking distance to the main attractions as beach, fisherman´s wharf and so on.

The breakfast was nice especially as we could take it to our room and did not have to sit in the lobby.

The owners and staff were extremely friendly. On two occassions they went out of thier way assist our family. The cleaning staff even cleaned our room after they had finished all the other rooms and put thier equipment away. Our kids were naping when they came by to clean it the first time. Later that afternoon we went to dinner and when we came back the room was cleaned and our kids teddy bears were arrainged on the bed as if for bed time. The rooms and hotel were extremely clean. The staff was even cleaning the cement floors outside the rooms. The location, price, and hotel staff made this one of the best trips we have had to Monterey in years. I would stay there again and highly recommend it.

Stage Coach Lodge is a very good choice for road 1 drive travelers. The hotel is very close to road 1 which is super convenient. it's quiet for sleep during night. Also, it's 15 min walk get to the monterey bay beach and fisherman's wharf. The staff is nice. The breakfast is acceptable to the price.
