We booked this hotel for two reasons. 1. we were planning the trip together with another couple, including one dog per couple. These friends are budget conscious, so we went for the cheapest, mid-range hotel that allowed dogs. We thought Travelodge would be better than a Motel 6 (which was a lot cheaper) 2. I'd stayed there a few years before and didn't remember it being too bad.
The check-in was just fine, and the receptionists were friendly. However, the room smelled like stale, 30-year old cigarette smoke that has been "cleared-out" for the last few years, but never really left. You get used to it, but.. is that good? There were stains on the carpet. The blanket on one of the beds was so brittle and sticky I wouldn't touch it directly - I think it was once fleece, but had lost it's fleece-y softness many years before. The airport is very close to the hotel, so if jet engine noise every hour or so bothers you, then you'll be bothered. Breakfast was fine. Overall, the place badly needs updating: replace the carpets, replace the bedspreads, and get a better key-maker because the keys are always losing their ability to open doors (and no, I don't carry magnets in my purse and I intentionally kept the keys at least 3 feet from my cell phone - kinda hard to do, but its fun to try!)
