Succinctly, there are better restaurants in Monterey and Carmel and Carmel Valley and Seaside and, and, etc. Upon my first visit the Duck Confit was my entre and my wife chose a pasta dish. The confit was like no other; nondistinguished, bland and a quarter of leg & thigh for $23.50. If you are bargain hunting your meal, look elsewhere! When the smoke cleared a pasta dish, duck leg and thigh, two glasses of wine and a 15% tip (service wasn't worth the 20% I normally tip) and presto, $80 disappeared from my wallet. Mind you $80 isn't a high end price for two, but when the food is this underwhelming (where's the flavor?), I say, go somehwere else. Tarpy's, Christophers, MonTrio, Fisherman's Grotto, all will give you a better bang for your buck. Oh, by the way, I've dined in real french boites throughout the motherland and this restaurant reminds me of few.
