“Very nice hotel, right on the sea front”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012 via mobile

We stayed here last year too. Its a very good hotel. The restaurant, whilstvery good, has exactly the same menu still, which was slightly disappointing. I also don't like having to pay for WiFi, and don't like having to pay for WiFi 'per device'.

We only visited the restaurant after our trip at the Aquarium, but we could easily have stayed but we had already made plans in another city! This hotel has an absolutely wonderful location, fantastic service and terrific food and wine.

Extremely quiet and well soundproofed hotel despite its central location; the rooms are relatively large, extremely clean and modern.
Front desk and guest services are great and welcoming.
Only drawback: they referred me to the worst "best restaurant in town": the Sardine Factory.

Hats off to the staff at The Clement in Monterey. They are amazingly helpful and friendly. We particularly were impressed by the Assistant Front Office Manager, Sebastian Stacey. He has taken care of all of our requests quickly and efficiently. He is a pleasure to work with and has made all of our stays very enjoyable. One of the bellmen, Michael, has been with The Clement for many years and has never failed to welcome us and make us feel at home. This is really a special hotel!

Here on an overnight with our two kids. The rooms were very spacious (nice size bathrooms) and clean. The hotel was built in 2007 so everything looks nice and new. Geo (I think) was our bellman and he did a great job. Javan at the front desk was very helpful with our reservations and getting us into connecting rooms. The restaurant was OK but we had a little better luck with some local places. When we go back to Monterey this is the only hotel we will stay in.

We stayed at the intercontinental for two nights as part of our west coast trip.Despite arriving on a saturday at peak time we found everything handled very efficently from the valet parking to the check in.

We had emailed ahead requseting,if possible a high floor room in the main building and were delighted with the size and location of the room.

If only the restaurant staff lived up to the standard of service eleswhere,at dinner on saturday we were suprised,to put it mildly to have both starters and main course delivered at the same time!!

There was also a problem at breakfast on the second morning where the waiter tried to add 20% to our bill as we were part of a "tour party", not so!

In all fairness both problems were resolved very quickly by the restaurant manger, indeed we received complimentary appetisers and sweets at dinner on Sunday.

Overall our stay was very enjoyable and the hotel relaxing, especially the large and airy bedroom.
