I travel for business frequently and have stayed at many Courtyard's over the years. My boss chose this location and hotel, so I had no choice but to stay here for 5 long nights. In our business, we work long hours at the client's location and basically just sleep and shower at the hotel of choice. I had read the reviews and knew that the hotel had a freeway noise issue and was accommodated with my request for a high floor room on the back side of the hotel.
Great location off the 210, welcoming and friendly staff, ample parking, restaurants and shopping close by and within walking distance, wake-up calls were prompt, beds comfortable and rooms/facility were clean, fairly good room rate.
The freeway noise upon entering my room was so loud I thought the balcony sliding door was open..it wasn't. I turned on the air conditioner and TV, freeway still audible. The worst is that I am a relatively light sleeper and when the TV was off, I felt like I was lying in the middle of the freeway. Five nights of little sleep took its toll on my work performance. Additionally, while housekeeping came in daily, they didn't empty the garbage cans daily. The price for the breakfast was high for the selections offered. The first day I ate at the hotel, however, $10 is a bit pricy for a few pieces of cut fruit and a yogurt. Save yourself some money and go to Trader Joe's and purchase breakfast supplies for the week. You'll get a week's supply of breakfast and snacks for $10.
I wanted to like this hotel, as I will surely be returning to this area for work in the future. It has a lot of good things going for it. However, a good nights sleep is paramount to me while I'm on the road or anywhere else and it is unfortunate that a hotel with so many other great qualities cannot deliver on that. Upon returning to the area, I will have to seek another hotel.
Try asking for a room on the far north end and back of the hotel, farthest away from the freeway. Y...
