5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW

It was hard to find a hotel/motel in the area at a reasonable price for a quick business trip. Found Best Western on 16th street and experienced a very clean hotel and the staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. Great restaurant right next store.

False Advertising when you sell a hot-tub as an amenity, but don't fix it for two months! Value of hotel, about $70/price... $85-$95: overpriced. Clean enough rooms. Some noise issues, needed to run fan all night: police/fire sirens, train, general noise from close alley/streeet. Breakfast area okay, but the older lady, smoker who works it: not too friendly. Night staff very friendly, quick. Overall place is clean. Price drop the day of went from $84 to $68 (20% discount). Joined Best Western Rewards to earn a travel voucher. Might stay there again, but the Days Inn on Mchenry was only $72, quieter, similar.

Room Tip: Definite noise issues if that matters to you. Rooms on upstairs, West Building, quieter. Plus, saw...

The hotel room itself was very nice and the staff couldn't have been more helpful but the hotel appeared to have been allowing a few men to live at the hotel long term and also allowed them to treat the parking lot like a front yard compete with a grille and ice chest.

I know you don’t book people in Modesto but once a year, but as an FYI you may want to take the Best Western Lodge off your list. It was in a terrible area, 1 block for the county jail, many homeless and vagrants mulling around, in fact I believe some were living at the motel we were at. There were no restaurants, fast food places or any type of markets/stores remotely close to walking if needed, but that really wasn’t an issue because you wouldn’t want to walk in the area. I asked if they could put my room in between two of the guys, but that didn’t happen. My room backed up to what they called the breakfast room so my electrical went at 6 :15 AM ( when they started making breakfast it would trip breakers) and continued to be out until I left for the day, this happened 3 of the five days I was there. Part of my door to the outside had a 2 inch gap from the floor to the bottom of the door, I stuffed a towel there at night, god knows what crawled in during the day..lol. My wake-up calls would ring in 1 hour late daily, until the last day when they figured out they had not re-set their clocks at the last time change. And last but least my room was next door to a bunch of guys that set outside of their rooms every night drinking and other things until very late at night. Needless to say it was an experience…lol

We have stayed at this location for several years when visiting family and taking care of business matters. This property is located in a historical area of the city. The staff is very professional. Our king bed was divinely comfortable in an updated room; breakfast items are always well prepared. The City Library is directly across the street; banks and businesses are within walking distance.

We travel to Modesto frequently to attend events at the Gallo Theater and State Theater. We always book with Best Western Townhouse and we have never been disappointed. The hotel is downtown and only blocks away from entertainment venues and fine dining. The area is safe, the beds are very comfortable, the breakfast is good and coffee plentiful In room Internet is easy to access, rooms are quiet and staff is very helpful. Forgot my toothbrush this visit and they gave me free brush and toothpaste at no charge. Is close to Farmer's Market (open in Spring and Summer) and convenient for walking to your downtown destinations!
