Because of the large mid-eastern population where we live (Detroit in Southeast Michigan), it's not hard to find a really good mid-eastern restaurant. But there are no Persian restaurants so it was with great delight that we were taken by friends we were visiting to Hatam Restaurant in Mission Viejo. We concur with the majority of reviewers who have given Hatam high marks.
We were greeted warmly and were guided through the menu to the point where we were given samples of a traditional Persian drink whose name I cannot remember. But it was good.
After sharing the special appetizer plate, each of us (four) ordered a different entree so that we could sample the different flavors. And we all enjoyed our selections and there was enough left to take home.
Our hosts were gracious and I certainly wish there was a Persian restaurant in our area.
