My husband and I went to Wineworks last night for a glass of wine and some food before going to the movies. It was our first time here, and overall we enjoyed it but I'm not sure we'd go back.
First off, when you enter, you're in a strip mall in a wine store. We weren't greeted and it wasn't clear whether we were supposed to wait at the counter (of the store) or walk directly back into the restaurant. It's very small - only about 10-12 tables and a small bar area. Quaint with dim lighting.
We were greeted and shown to our table (you really need a reservation on the weekend). There was a piece of paper that said "Welcome Heidi & Tony" and had our reservation time on it. Nice touch.
The wine list is decent, and you can choose between a 3 ounce pour, 6 ounce pour or the bottle. The 6 ounce pours start at around $10/glass.
The salads/appetizers average around $14/plate and are a good size.
There was a great variety of entrees to choose from and they seemed to range around $25 - $35/each.
Overall, I felt it was too pricey given the location and atmosphere. Being that everything has to be ordered a la carte, if you're hungry and want a salad, entree and glass of wine, you're looking at at least $50 - $60 per person. No bread or anything is served when you sit down...
I don't think they have the menu quite right. I'd go there with my girlfriends for glasses of wine and to share appetizers. They need to expand the appetizer list and include some "tapas" style sharing plates.
Live music did start around 7:30pm with a guitarist and I thought that was a nice touch.
