My husband and I went there on Sunday which is supposed to be Prime Rib night. Sat outside on the patio to enjoy the golf course view with lake and Saddleback mountains in the distance. It was nice; there are lots of birds, etc. Some golfers playing as well. Lovely evening. What is missing is that the metal tables and chairs need are cushions on the chairs and in the evening they need to put some linens on the tables; not just the usual metal table. Looks very unfinished and not comfortable seating at all.
Table of 7 next to us were a bit loud as well even though we were outdoors. Just one of those things.
Ordered a tanqueray and tonic. Tonic was flat and they had to bring a new drink with bottled tonic. Husband ordered beer which he thought came in a small glass. Waiter very nicely replaced drink and a bottle of tonic.
Then the prime rib. We both ordered medium rare. We saw several orders of prime rib come out of the kitchen for a couple other tables. Noticed that it looked very dark, over-cooked appearance. Hoped that they had ordered end cuts or medium well as we were already concerned.
I love prime rib and was looking forward to ours. Unfortunately it was without doubt the worst prime rib I have ever experienced. Barely pink, over-cooked, and our steak knife could barely cut it. Just looking at it you knew it would be bad; discolored, dark brown and totally unappetizing. I had to have my husband try to cut it for me. It was horrible. Walking out on a meal is unheard for us but we decided not to compound the experience another moment of this food nightmare.
We politely asked for the manager and I expressed to him that it was the worst prime rib I have ever had. We told him we would pay for the drinks and salad but he told us they would be complimentary and apologized for the meal not being up to our expectations. He handled the problem perfectly and we appreciated his comments.
I will never go back to this restaurant again; unfortunately because it's close to our home.
