Very clean and quality hotel worth they extra few bucks you pay. Great bar and had Starbucks downstairs in the morning! The lobby was under some kind of project remodeling or painting, but should be completed by now. Friendly staff, but had to pay for parking. Next the aloft hotel which shares a shuttle to and from the airport.

The Westin San Francisco hotel is located just south of the San Francisco airport and next door to their sister property the Aloft. They both use the same shuttle bus to and from the Airport which runs about every 20/30 minutes.

The hotel rooms are typical Westin -- nothing outstanding in my opinion but fairly consistent with what one would expect. I had a room facing the bay and had good soundproofing.

The "advantage" of both the Aloft and the Westin is that it is literally one of the closest hotels to the BART station in Millbrae. You can easily walk from the hotel to both the In-N-Out burger joint (a good thing for fans of In-N-Out) and the BART station in about 10-12 minutes. Unfortunately, the shuttle does not drop you off there so you pretty much have to walk but it is quite an easy walk and provides some options to you.

If you are SPG Platinum, there is no executive lounge, but the hotel does give you a complimentary continental breakfast at the Grill and Vine as well as your 500 points -- something that is not true at all Westin properties. Kudos to the hotel for providing both of these to Platinum members.

Stayed here for a night while on business. Very close to airport and I generally stay at Starwood properties. I am a platinum Starwood member but also gold for Marriott and Hilton.
I try to avoid staying by the SFO airport as you are trapped if you do not have a rental car. Burlingame is very close by but not walkable and downtown is preferred when possible.
anyhow, they redid the lobby and finally the bar and restaurant. it is much better, more comfortable. rooms are nice, exactly what you expect for a Westin by an airport.
This hotel was on my do not repeat list until they did the renovations. I will now stay here again based on the changes only when i need to be by the airport.

If you accept this hotel for what it is - a place to camp before an early morning flight from SFO -- it is fine. If you are thinking of this as a place to stay during a vacation in SF or for multi-day business meetings downtown or in Silicon Valley, you can do better. The hotel literally could not be closer to the airport without being on the runway. I probably had a closer view of the airplanes that some of the air traffic controllers did. The hotel offers regular shuttle service to SFO, leaving every 15 minutes during the morning rush. Surface parking is available for a fee. There are cabs outside the hotel, but you also could take the free hotel shuttle to the airport and from there take BART downtown for three or four dollars one way. Downtown SF is a $50 cab ride, and takes about 20 or 30 minutes depending on traffic. The hotel is pretty isolated from anything else, and I didn't see any restaurants etc within walking distance. The rooms themselves are pretty standard Westin rooms. Comfortable beds, lots of workspace. There are electrical outlets on the desk, but not by the bed (which is a pain if you use your smart phone as your alarm clock). The public areas are pretty standard for a middle of the pack Westin (standard green coloring in hallways, but shows a fair amount of wear and tear). Overlooking all that though and viewing it as a place to crash before an early morning flight, I've seen worse.
