Dinner in the Alfiere restaurant, at the Westin hotel, was excellent. I had the pork chop special and it was delicious. The pork was moist and tender. I skipped the garlic mashed potatoes and had extra sauteed green beans. They were done just right and still a little crunchy, with a delicious light garlic flavor in the saute. The couple of onion rings on top were overcooked, though. With a glass of wine, the total bill was about $42 before tip. The staff is courteous and efficient. The wine steward offered one of the others in my group to taste a couple of the wines she was trying to decide between. The down side is the ambiance. The Westin is a top tier hotel, but you enter the dining room in the elevator lobby. The entry is plain, and the decor seems like it is just tables jammed in a room. Everything is clean, but it is just plain and nondescript.
