“Great Breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

Stopped at the Black Bear Diner for breakfast whilst returning from Yosemite to San Francisco

Extensive menu, good food and fantastic service ( where in America do you ever get anything else?). Potion sizes are huge by Australian standards but you don't need to eat it all. Meat Lovers Omelette was very good
Highly recommended

“Really Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2014

In my opinion, there is nothing that makes the Black Bear Diner stand out. My take on their pot roast was that it tasted very processed as did the gravy (straight out of a package), and the canned green beans. Yes, the servings are large, and the prices are fair, but I personally want much fresher food with a more creative approach. I'm not talking taking it to an extreme, but if I want a TV dinner taste, I can heat up a TV dinner. The service is good and it's close to the freeway making it a convenient stop if you're on the road or passing through.

“Different from other diners”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2014

It was after 20:30, I took the chicken parmezan with spaghetti and marinara sauce (big portion) and my partner the meatloaf with mashed potatoes. Included in the price was also soup or salad. So very big portions. Nice service!

“Great!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2014

Awesome service, great food. Knew we could trust Black Bear Diner. We asked the staff about some place to go walk after dinner and they were so honest and let us two ladies know that it wasn't really a safe place to be after dark. We were so appreciative! We ate more than one meal here this weekend as we knew the value was worth it!

“Excellent restaurant.”

This is a good chain restaurant. Food was good---large portions---fair prices--very good service. We enjoyed our dinner. Family friendly.
