The MacCallum House Inn is one of many really nice places to stay in Mendocino. Even if we didn't end up staying at the inn, we planned on dining there at least one meal of our trip based on their superb online reviews. We happened to stay at the MacCallum House Inn which included full complimentary breakfasts in their restaurant on the first floor. My wife and I both found the breakfast burrito to be the best we'd ever had. It was very unique with homemade sausage and roasted peppers, which gave it a French flavor. We had a choice of three different eating areas; the restaurant with a stone fireplace and rich dark woods, a sun room featuring a full view of Mendocino, and an outdoor patio. We had dinner in the sunroom on our first night in Mendocino. We both chose the Grouper special for the evening. Being from Southern California, grouper is something I've never encountered on a restaurant menu. We both enjoyed our meals and especially the vegetable sides that were cooked perfectly. A cozy bar sits inside from the sunroom and features a fireplace, bar seating, a couple love seats, comfortable chairs and coffee tables. Service was top-notch during our stay, including the check-in clerk, restaurant servers and bartender. MacCallum House Inn is situated one block from Main Street and within easy walking distance from anywhere in Mendocino Village. Other places we dined or would consider dining in Mendocino Village include Cafe Beaujolais, Patterson's Pub, Trillium Cafe and the Mendocino Hotel.
