“A good value for money hotel, comfortable clean with helpfull staff.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

Medium sized motel in a good position for touring in Yosmite. We arrived late evening staff were busy but helpfull. We stayed 3 nights and found okay. Room was typical motel style ...comfortable bed tv tea coffee making vey clean a bit worn in parts but otherwise ok. Air con was abit noisy but after 10 hour drive we didnt notice it and did get used to it. Wifi was poor but was free... Other reviews slam internet but it was FREE... Larger hotels we have stayed in charge 14 dollars a day so unless your sharing big pics or files it did work eventually. Bed was queen size clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was continental style and plenty of it. Swimming pool on site... Overall a good experience and we would go back.

I'm not one to write negative reviews because I realize there can be unique instances that are out of a businesses control. This, on the other hand is not the case. While I would recommend staying in a nearby town if going into Yosemite (and not camping), steer clear of this hotel.

The hotel was so bad that it was laughable. The bed was obviously broken as it was U shaped from the center. We told the front desk person on the way out and she said she would add my feedback to "the book". The sheets were also too small for the bed and we woke up each morning with the mattress exposed as the bed covers are too small to stay on.

Like someone else mentioned, the WiFi really is unusable. I don't need high speed access, but it was so bad nothing would load, which is even more frustrating when you are in an area with poor cell phone reception.

Smaller complaints, but still ridiculous, we had to fix the toilet constantly or else it would run (which is not fun in the middle of the night after sleeping in the terrible beds). We were also excited to see that they offer a hot breakfast. When we got there at 8:30am the egg disks were so old and dried out they were chewy like styrofoam and the sausage were like hockey pucks.

I really hope that my experience was just a fluke, but wanted to warn other potential customers, as we will not be staying there in the future.

I stayed in the hotel one night while showing Yosemite to my friends.
Positives:
The best feature for me was very comfortable beds.
The hotel is nice, the furniture in the room was very nice, big LCD TV set.
Everything was very clean.
Pool with jacuzzi.
Wide selection of TV programs provided by DISH.
Plenty of parking even on a very busy night.

Just OK:
Good (not great) complimentary breakfast.

Negatives:
TV remote was not working properly, but I was too tired to watch TV anyway.
The hotel is four stores high, but there is no elevator. It could be a problem for some people.

Room Tip: The best rooms are on the second floor at the back of the building, they are on the street level and...

This was a good place in proximity to Yosemite's western entrance. The clerk was friendly and helpful, and gave us a good recommendation for dinner. Our king bed room are quite roomy, the bed was comfortable enough, and it was clean. We thought since it was right on the main road into or out of town it might be noisy, but by night time it was quiet enough that we were not distrubed. There is a pool and hot tub and a breakfast room. The breakfast was mediocre, but enough to get you started for the day. We always bring our own coffee and brew it in the room, so can't comment on the coffee quality. The rates are reasonable and it is only about 27 miles from hotel to Yosemite. It's a convenient, no frills palce, but clean and adequate.

This is what it is. It'a a basic cheap motel on the edge of Yosemite. We had to stay here because the tent at Curry Camp was too dirty to stay and we had to find a nearby alternative. It was friendly enough but the rooms are rather 1970's and the aircon is noisy. It is located in a bit of a ghost town but having said that, we did find a reasonable bar nearby and luckily we found a great restaurant!

All in all a good place to stay while visiting the area. The staff is nice and the rooms clean and modern. The breakfast is pretty good but the same every day, something you notice when staying multiple days. After listening to traffic noise on the front side I'd say try for a room on the backside in the 200s where there are no stairs to climb with luggage and quieter. For some odd reason our room didn't have a closet, just an ironing board leaning against the wall. A closet would have been very nice for that 5 day stay. They say everything is higher in the mountains and this place can be included in that saying with the room prices.

When there are milk crates in the back parking lot you can be sure a tour bus will be soon arriving sharing the hotel with you. Those folks are up early and in the breakfast room. It is large but can get crowded.

Room Tip: Rooms on the backside are tons quieter and with no elevator the ground floor 200s are the ones to pi...

Do not recommend. The room had ants, the internet was unusable. The night manager blamed it on the owner being asleep. The next day when trying to solve the ant problem, the day manager lied and said the manager was out running errands. When we finally saw him, he apologized for oversleeping. For his part, he was nice (our car was broke down and he offered us a ride), but he didn't seem to have any clue about our issues with the room. We had a reservation for the second night, but cancelled. Oakhurst is neaby and has nicer accomodations--look there instead.

Room Tip: Go to Oakhurst--the Comfort Inn is nice.
