Stayed at the Holiday Inn at Marina Del Ray for 3 nights on the 26th of January. Hotel is around 15 mins walk to the marina and has all the facilities required to do business or chill out for a few days. I enjoyed the good customer service from the staff and the rooms were pretty good considering the price i payed ($US149 per night), whilst i was there i had the free breakie one day but ended up walking to a mexican cafe on the 2nd day and had a hot breakie for $US10. There is also a Marriott hotel about 5 mins from this hotel but they charge $US285 a night and its 5 star service. The be honest its easier to just stay at the Holiday Inn.

Across the street is a dry cleaner/Laundry who can clean your clothes for less than $US5 for one big bag. Next door is a liquor store who is open until midnight, he also sells food and toiletries.

Definately would stay again :)

We stayed on the third floor. Room was remolded, very nice. The hotel was easy to find. Staff very friendly. The only problem was that their breakfast bar didn't open until 6:30 A.M. I think that's too late for someone trying to beat morning traffic in LA.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. December 31 ro January 3. We went to watch the Rose Bowl parade and Rose Bowl Game 2008. We booked the hotel after spending several hours searching for the best area to stay. All of Pasadena was full and downtown LA was too expensive. We rented a car at the airport and drove approximately 15 miles up to the hotel. The location and complentary breakfast are the top two things we enjoyed about the hotel. The free parking was nice too. This hotel is a great place to stay if visiting any part of LA. Don't be over excited about the outside decor or the entry (very small). Don't stay here if you want a hotel with a great pool. The pool was very very small, but rather stay at the hotel if you want a hotel to be clean, good complementary breakfast,, and safe. The rooms were updated and the staff was friendly. This hotel is not an upscale hotel with tile floors or big chandelliers etc., but rather clean, efficient, and highly recommended. Great location. We toured Beverly Hills, Malibu, Hollywood and Santa Monica. Go up the street on Washington Ave toward the Ocean and get some of the best Mexican food and drinks around. The restarurant is called Baja Cantina.

If you're looking to stay near the ocean and not spend a fortune, this is a great, safe choice. The hotel is less than a mile from the beach. You can walk or bike to Venice Beach and you're also close to Santa Monica. Our room (two beds) was very clean, and it was spacious compared to similar rooms at other hotels. The staff is very courteous. Included is your standard hotel breakfast and free parking! It's not fancy, but the room was very nice -- it seemed like it might have been renovated recently. I wouldn't call it a four-star hotel, but I give it four stars for the value.
