I have been to The Ritz in Key Biscayne, Naples and now Marina del Rey. All three have been exceptional. The staff is attentive and professional, the rooms have been impeccable. On this occasion, I only ate at the poolside restaurant which was okay. That would be the one complaint. We brought our two little kids and the guest services person was fantastic with them. She greeted them with balloons, sent them on a treasure hunt and gave us a birthday present for our little guy. They sent up cookies to the room and seemed very accepting of children at this property. It's difficult to find nice properties that are nice to kids as well. We'll definitely keep going to Ritz properties.

The hotel is beautiful inside. If you plan on sitting at the pool as the staple of your stay, be prepared for non-stop house music. It's pretty horrible stuff, and sometimes they have a live DJ spinning it.
So if you want to nap at the pool, you better fill up on $15 Mango Margaritas till you pass out, because the steady stream of bass is pretty much endless.

Comfortable relaxing hotel. Good food. Staff helpful and friendly. Pleasant pool - pity about the musak. If you are not into boats, I don't think there is much to do in the area. For us it was a handy overnight stay for Los Angeles Airport

I spent 3 nights at the Ritz Carlton on the club floor at the end of May. On arrival the front desk spent absolutely ages in finding out if my room was ready. Normally if you are staying at club-level you check in at the club floor reception desk! When I was shown to my room I found it was situated over the main road (I asked for a quiet room) and like a previous review I found the carpet badly stained. The bed looked crumpled and creased and I requested another room. I then had to wait a considerable time before I was shown to another room - again the carpet was badly stained. I was shown to a third room that overlooked the marina - a lovely view but the carpet yet again had staining. This hotel most definately isn't up to the regular Ritz Carlton standard and I would hesitate to use this particular hotel again in the future.
