My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights with our 9 and 11 year-old sons. Our room was clean and airy with a super view of the marina. Decor was fine. Pool was fine for the kids. Front desk service was OK, though unusually lacking in local knowledge (as indicated in other reviews). Restaurant food was limited but service was relaxed and friendly there and in the bar. Given the view, the price was reasonable.

“Underwhelming..”

I paid a lot of money to stay at the Marina Del Rey, and to be honest I was completely underwhelmed. The room had a very odd odour about it and the wallpaper and decor were particularly scruffy.

The location was ok, but not overly special.

I dont think I would stay here again, at least not for the money I paid for it, its a shame really because with some money spent on the place it could be really special.

“Marina view beautiful, Room a wreck”

Marina Del Rey Hotel

Me and my family stayed at the Marina Del Rey Hotel in June. I was so disappointed in the room. The pictures that are provided on the internet is not what your getting. There is no doorman or fancy columns or recessed lighting in the ceiling of the entrance. The entry doors are wide open, metal poles hold up the awning and the only lights are christmas lights hanging from the ceiling. I don't know where that picture on the internet was taken but it wasn't at the hotel I stayed at. The carpets were dirty, worn and had iron burns in them. The floors were slanted which made walking difficult. The walls were dirty and needed painting. Everything was very out of date. The bathroom was not clean. Need I go on. DON'T STAY HERE!!!! We made a 4000 thousand mile trip and stayed in several hotels. The Marina Del Rey was the most expensive and the worst place we stayed.

“A COMPLETE DISASTER :-(”

Marina Del Rey Hotel

We actually had a reservation at this hotel (check-in July 9th, check-out July 10th). But as you can see, I am posting this at 2AM on July 10th. A matter of fact, I am posting it from a room at the Marriott a few blocks away!

This hotel was a disaster, and it almost ruined our entire trip. From the disinterested and semi-rude "gentleman" working the front desk, to the peeling wallpaper and shabby interior... My wife and I were completely disappointed almost from the moment we stepped into the lobby.

The first room we were given was on the 1st floor. It was a Smoking room (with cigarette burns, or something, on the carpet) because "they had run out of non-smoking rooms" even though we had reserved one 2 weeks prior. When my wife realized that the sliding glass balcony door was not lockable (there was a strange screw mechanism holding it in place, but it was broken), we complained and received a second room, this time on the 3rd floor.

The room was shabby (but we had realized we would have to settle), but the view was great. As my wife pulled down the bedspread so our daughter could take a nap, they both screamed. FLEAS. :-( They were EVERYWHERE. My wife and I were disgusted.

Needless to say, I had a 'friendly' chat with the disinterested front desk guy, and not only were we given a full refund, but they paid for a night at a 'neighboring hotel' which happened to be the Marriott. This was all arranged via the manager, not the desk guy.

My family and I, and everyone we know, will never frequent this establishment EVER again. Even though it ended up being "free" it was still atrocious. Please beware!
