“What a suprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2013

This place was really good. Probably some of the best Asian food I've ever had. Each we order four different meals and each was great. Highly recommend the chow mein.

“FRESH, FAST, FANTASTIC”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

This is not a Monterey Tourist Experience restaurant. The Noodle Bar is strictly a locals only as I doubt any tourist would find the back side of a 40 year old budget strip mall/shopping center a point of interest on any vacation trek. But for locals it is worth the quick trip to Marina. Family run and it shows. The attention to quality, service and value is evident on every visit...and since discovering this hidden gem it's a weekly food stop. We've tried around 15 different items on their menu and haven't even scratched the surface. The fresh spring rolls (we prefer the non-fried type) are delicious and crunchy. 4 large ones for $5.50 is a perfect opener for two. And their pho is among the best I've had. And the stir fry dishes are a variety of fresh veggies cooked just right. And just get the regular sized plate for $5.50 (comes with fried rice of choice or steamed) as it is more than enough for anyone...but if you want some for take home just get the large platter for only $1 more and take home a carton of left overs. Fresh smoothies, bobba teas of many flavors, cheap beer..in fact this is the least expensive restaurant we patronize and it's among one of the best for freshness and quality. Go figure. Always friendly wait staff. Loud and small but still fine for conversation. Plenty of parking. There are other family members operating similar restaurants - the Noodle Bar in Seaside, Chopstix in Monterey - but this one is hands down our favorite. Give it a try when you're in the mood for fresh, healthy food.

“Banh mi?!?!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

Didn't want to tarnish the Noodle Bar's ratings as their food is decent with good prices. BUT their Banh Mi Bar across the way leaves a lot to be desired! The BBQ pork is bland and missing the usual five spice flavors and, even worse, their meatballs are NOT the usual Vietnamese meatballs but Italian meatballs - tomato sauce and all! Perhaps this is a Monterey Peninsula convention but a first for us (and a real downer!). I guess Chopsticks is still the place for local banh mi.

“Good and cheap.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

You have to give them props. They have figured out a way to give people good food (not great), a good amount and great Boba drinks for a very good value. I would rather spend my $5.50 at this restaurant than at a fast food place.
