“Clean, Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

Pros:
Clean
Excellent beach location - ocean view from our room, close to restaurants
Free bikes & beach equipment
Friendly staff
Ample free parking - this is a big plus in this area
Comfortable bed
Reasonable price for this location
Cons:
Traffic noise in the morning & evening - right on Highland Ave.
TV didn't work very well
Room quite small - european size, but others are available for more $'s

Room Tip: Choose higher floors

We first stayed here the year it opened, some 20+ years ago, and stay for between 2 to 4 nights at a time depending on whether it is a layover when travelling through LAX($25 taxi ride), or as part of a west coast vacation and have never posted a review until now.

Located at the north end of Manhattan Beach at 34th and Highland with restaurants/bars within easy walking distance and three blocks down to the beach and via the strand (beach walk path) a stunning 30/40 minute walk to the pier and downtown.

We seen it grow from a single building motel to the four building Inn it is now and have stayed in both standard and deluxe rooms. This time we stayed here 01/08/13 to 01/12/13 in room 106 a standard room in the original block. The standard rooms are of a good medium size which have been remodelled since our last visit and are well decorated with good wardrobe and draw space and bigger bathroom with large showers and with great helpful staff your stay will be a happy one.
Check out the web site it gives a good and detailed description of what to expect.

Highly Recommended.

Very clean hotel, that makes up for the slightly worn quality of our room (worn but clean sheets for example). Location is fabulous, great town! Coffee makers should be in ALL rooms, would not consider that a deluxe amenity. There are several wonderful cafes a few yards away, it is true, but they don't open til 7am. At the least, this info should be provided to guests when they check in. Nice, helpful staff, but less than ideal to have nobody at the front desk or answering the phones overnite(after 11pm). We will certainly stay again as the price is good for the area and it is so clean.

Room Tip: Wheelchair accessible room with roll-in shower is great to have available, does need a bit of repair...

We stayed in a two bedroom suite in the Sea View Inn from January 20 to 23, 2013. There was six of us in the group, two adults and four kids (ages 5-10). We were upgraded from the executive suite, and the two bedroom was perfect for our family - I will book that one the next time we visit the Inn (and there will be a next time!).
We were treated so warmly, and the "rentals" (free) of bikes, beach chairs, boogie boards, beach toys and beach towels were much appreciated. They even had bikes to fit our children - something we had not expected.
The pool was heated, so we were able to enjoy it even though the weather wasn't very hot. We love the location of the hotel - it is about three short blocks to the beach, but we could see it from our balcony. The restaurants around the hotel are fabulous, and we followed the recommendations of the Inn staff and had 5 or 6 wonderful meals. Our favorites were Four Daughter's Kitchen, Sloopy's for milkshakes, and Pauncho's for a nice Mexican meal.
The suite we were in was very comfortable and very clean, even though it wasn't decorated "modern". Such a good time! We highly recommend this inn!

I have stayed at the Sea View Inn every year for the past 15+ years and always enjoy my visits. The newly re-done rooms are a nice addition. James and his crew always provide top knotch service!

This is the place to stay for some real local hotel. Don't give me yet another chain, this is a bit quirky, a bit throw back and a lot Of fun. Room rates are great. Go for deluxe queen sea view at 200 a night and enjoy. Free beach kit and bikes every day. What's not to love?

The Sea View Inn was fantastic- The location is right in the middle of MB and its a fun spot to be-it was pretty quiet since it was winter, and it was great fun to walk everywhere- including to many resturants-down the strand to the beach and even to the gym a few blocks away- the weather is always beautiful so there is no worries about that -such great energy! There is a little market across the street that has everything you need- never even have to leave the area and you wont want too! The staff was a pleasure to work with- James the manager is very accommadating from the time I made the reservation to the day we left - nothing was ever a problem- the other staff as well Brandon- Jimmy and Nary the housekeeping manager- all working hard to make our stay was pleasant and it was. The room we had was fantastic- we like and oceanview and that is what we had- a great deck to sit out on all day and watch the ocean- with the sun keeping us warm and beautiful sunsets everynight including from the bedroom- MB is a paradise- and so is the Sea View Inn- sure makes you want to move there! For sure its a great great place to visit and to keep going back too-we have family there and have been there a few times and will be back cause we are awaiting the arrival of our first grandbaby girl- but this was by far the best visit and alot had to do with the Sea View Inn. Location Location Location- thats what you always hear and the Sea View Inn has it!

Room Tip: we saw several of the rooms- the 1 bedroon and 2 bedroom apts are fantastic for families with childr...
