This was our last night in LA and it was marathon day so we didn't want to get stuck in the bad traffic and risk missing the flight. So this place is perfect for the airport. And perfect too as a base for exploring south LA beaches and towns. We drove down to Redondo, Hermosa and the exclusive estates of Palos Verdes. This is an amazing part of LA, so different to the main bits. The motel is an archetypal US motel, straight from a low budget movie, or Coen Brothers. Sadly the pool was closed due to a change in state laws that says every pool now needs to have two pumps. Clearly this pool had one pump. And remained shut. At 69 dollars a night I can't imagine they'll be excavating the pool foundations to put another pump in for some time. In the car park is a Mexican cafe that opens for breakfast. It was great. Across the road was a Mongolian eat as much as you like restaurant. That wasn't too great. But it was popular with the locals. The Seahorse Motel had good sized rooms, good bathroom, and did the job perfectly.
