Took the $5RT trolley from LAX area Embassy Suites Hotel to Manhattan Beach (what a bargain!) and ended up at Simmzy's for lunch after checking Tripadvisor reviews. A delightful choice.
Because we were just two, prompt seating was not a problem - and the place was bustling, full of friendly people enjoying the day, a little after noon. Harry, our waiter was welcoming and helpful. We both opted for the blue cheese burger and shared the generous order of shoestring potato fries. On the recommendation of the waiter, we tried the white wine-based sangria, which had strawberries and orange slices in it (the second glass, however, was crammed with ice and fruit, with too little sangria to drink). The bill came to $50 before tip - more than we usually pay for lunch (!!!), but this was a fun time to enjoy Manhattan Beach ambiance by the sea. Will post pictures of the place, the fries, and the sangria.
Certainly worth trying if you are in the area. Easy to find (next to Starbucks, as you can see in the photo). The open air seating was fun.
Tip: If it is really crowded, you can choose to sit at the bar.
