Hands down, this was one of our most relaxing and wonderful vacations. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was very comfortable, had breathtaking views and was reasonably priced. The Casa Malibu Inn is also conveniently located, has a nice assortment of fruit, muffins and Danishes for breakfast and has adjustable showerheads (hence no water pressure problems). We enjoyed hanging out on our balcony and the seaside patio area for several hours a day. Definitely not a cookie cutter hotel…it's fun, funky and very enjoyable. We can hardly wait to go back!

I am an interior designer and used to work, years ago, a day a week for one of the owners to give her some reprieve.

This Inn looks a wee bit funky from the exterior but OMGoodness how wonderful it is in every detail, once you walk in the door! The owners did not even need my help in renovating the rooms as both have impecable tastes.

The staff is polite and will go out of their way to help you. The cleaning staff have been there for a good 20+ years. That says a lot for both the staff and the owners! Even though there is another more upscale hotel down the street called the Malibu Beach Inn, it always felt less personable, more generic, and the rooms reflect that. Now, they have recently remodeled so I have not seen their interior changes yet. But I can assure you that Casa Malibu is worth considering for all its personal touches.

This hotel and its million dollar beach front experience exceeded the recommendation of friends who had raved about it. Casa Malibu is as close as it gets to heaven this side of paradise! This small boutique hotel is nestled in the midst of a residential stretch of the Malibu beach and offers travelers a respite from the standard hotel experience. After only two days felt like we NEVER wanted to go home. Kudos to Casa Malibu's hosts/owners, Joan and Richard Page, who have created an irresistible environment. I almost hate to tell anybody about this special place, but the TODAY show has already blown the secret by naming it one of the five best kept secret get-aways in the US. Oh well....just know that you may travel far and wide, but you cannot improve on this place. Make sure you get plan ahead so you will get one of the must-have rooms on the beach!

We stayed here in the middle of January for two nights. We splurged the first night and stayed in the suite, With two young children it was a treat to have the extra space, and especially the larger deck space. The room is very nicely done. The property is older but they've done well maintaining it. The front staff were very accommodating. The second night we moved to a standard room on the beach. Again the room is very well kept, and we actually found this room to be a little nicer in terms of updating/renovating. The beach access is amazing. And listening to the waves crash all night was very cool. My only disappointment (other than we had to leave!) was that the room service menu is quite limited. Its got a selection of 'fancy foods' but nothing simple, and nothing at all for kids (we ended up running out to KFC so the kids could have something they would eat) and I read they had a continental breakfast but they only had one kind of muffin and that was it. Both those are very minor. The overall stay was awesome and in a two week vacation to California that included Disneyland my 8-year old said these 2 days were one of the best!
