“Great little spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013

This is a great little spot when you have done the Getty and then head up the PCH for a ride. Odds are good you will pass this place the first time you drive to it. You have to pay attention when you reach the Las Flores intersection because it is just past that on your right. You will NOT be impressed by the architecture, but that is not why you are there.
The food is just basic food, burgers and wraps, but they are crafted and tasty. BIG burgers, luscious wraps (have the turkey club), breakfast burritos are among the best. You can sit at the one or two outdoor tables, watching the PCH go by, or take the food a little way up the highway and have a picnic on the beach.

“Good breakfast, could have been nicer”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

We stopped on our way to Santa Barbara. Yes, Maurie (sp?) is a fixture, but he stands behind the counter with his iphone plugged in his ear (ironic, given the NO CELL PHONE sign) and yaps to the locals while the non-locals wait. I guess the intention could be to keep the outsiders, well, out– but it seems fairly short-sighted, given the location.

Breakfast was good, but the overall experience could be improved.

“When you are hungry!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

Great place for breakfast on the weekend. I am sure it's great any other time too. Basic food done pretty well. Most portions are so huge you can share. Outside patio is best - quieter, less crowded.

“Breakfast is Money!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2012 via mobile

This little drive-up food stand is great. I haven't had their lunch foods but their breakfast burritos and breakfast sandwiches are awesome. Coming from the East Coast I'd never had a breakfast sandwich like this: eggs, bacon or sausage, lettuce, tomato, mayo on sourdough, white or rye. Terrific, any time of day. They have about 5 little tables with umbrellas. The staff is friendly, it's very inexpensive and the coffee is always fresh and hot. In a plaza right off the PCH in East Malibu diagonally from Duke's. Check it out! When we're in town, we hit it every morning.

“Great Burgers and Fries! A Local's Favorite!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2012

This is not a place to take a big party to and expect a sit down meal. You order at the window, Maurie has been there for over 40 years and he continues to serve one of the best burgers around. The P.C.H Burger is my favorite with bacon and avocado. I don't eat fries anymore but his were the best! Only three tables in front of the place, so sitting can be a problem, but it is what it is! This place gets confused with another place in mid-Malibu, so make sure you google the Country Kitchen for directions. It is caddy-corner, across the highway from Duke's Restaurant which is on the ocean. Another local's favorite.
