“So Relaxing and Luxurious!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

My husband and I stayed here for one night during our tour of L.A. This place is awesome! Every room has an ocean view and it was so relaxing to sleep and wake up to the sound of the waves in the morning. This is a very nice and luxurious boutique hotel and I am glad we had the opportunity to stay here. You can lay out and walk along the beach and it's great to have a meal out on the deck of their restaurant. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any couple celebrating a special occasion or wanting a romantic feel.

I live in Malibu part of the year. I just discovered that you don't have to stay at Malibu Beach Inn to eat at their restaurant. My girlfriend and I made a reservation for lunch. Fabulous ! Lovely beach front deck with a view of Malibu Pier. They also have an inside dining area. Very casual, intimate and lovely environment. The food was good, a bit expensive but not outrageous considering it's Malibu and the location. This will be one of my new go-to restaurants when guests are in town. I recommend making a reservation (not just showing up). Valet parking was free with validation.

Loved this hotel, great views and rooms. The fireplaces are a nice touch!
Rooms are not massive but done nicely and the views and balconies more than make up for this.
Would recommend to anyone planning on exploring this area of California.

If the sound of waves crashing on the beach... soothes you, revitalizes you, creates a Zen-like moment for you or just makes you happy....this is the place for you! Malibu Beach Inn is a charming little place right on the ocean. The views from each guest room are great. The rooms are small (mainly queen sized beds) but are appointed well and all have balconies. Because the style of the Inn is constructed more like a motel (exterior entrances to guest rooms) there is a lot of street noise; however, I could completely tune that noise out and get lost in the view and sound of the waves crashing on the beach. I happened across this hotel just becasue I was looking for a place to eat lunch on the water. During my stay, I dined in the resturant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And the room service menu is very comparable to the restaurant menu. I enjoyed the food - it was very fresh. The staff are a sweet, friendly bunch of young adults. They were extremely attentive to our needs. This is a perfect weekend escape. My only regret was that I didn't try one of the chocolate chip cookies that were in the lobby daily.

My wife and I just got back from a road trip up US 1 from LA to San Francisco and our first single night stay was the Malibu Beach Inn. When I go on a trip, I research it to death! I picked this hotel because, at least "on paper", it looked like a great location - far enough away from the LA hustle yet close enough from the airport that we had plenty of time to enjoy ourselves that day before heading out in the morning. The day we stayed was cool and cloudy, yet the Inn was inviting and welcoming, sun not a requirement. Yes, the Inn is expensive, but worth it to be treated well. Their restaurant accommodated us with an outdoor, heat lamped ocean view, and the food was quite good. Service from front desk to restaurant personnel was genuine and first rate. Our room was a partial ocean view, which means we got the far right end angling towards the pier and overlooking the employee parking lot and dumpsters. It wasn't noisy and it wasn't obtrusive. The gas fireplace was perfect for a cool, cloudy environment. We did walk on the beach to the pier, and enjoyed the one shop selling Malibu souvenirs, while noticing a sign saying that a restaurant would be opening up shortly (used to be 2 at the pier whose websites still insist that they are there). The beach is very narrow and quite rocky behind, so high tide would wipe out the beach and any chance of strolling. You don't stay here for the beach, but I would have been on it if the tide and sun had been out. I would highly recommend this hotel for the ambience, the décor, the service, and the food. We'll be back

Room Tip: Rooms with a direct view of the ocean are pricey, but the view beats the partial ocean view by a mil...

Everything about The Malibu Inn was wonderful. The staff were great, the view looking at the Malibu Pier was wonderful, the food at the restaurant was fantastic, best ever Maine lobster sandwich. It was the best part of our California trip from Australia and we Hope to return again soon. Highly recommend this location to anyone visiting Malibu, just disappointed we only had one night there. The rooms are also fabulous. Just loved it.

Rarely do I race onto trip advisor to write a wonderful review, usually it's to warn people about a horrible experience...but the Malibu Beach Inn is such a wonderful place I just had to write to let everyone know. We live in Los Angeles and were attending a wedding in malibu so we thought we would stay at this hotel so we wouldn't have to drive home afterwards. All I can say is wow I'm glad we did. This is a lovely hotel we arrived at noon, not expecting our room to be ready but had requested early check in if possible so we could get ready at a leisurely pace for the wedding. At the front desk we were warmly welcomed and told with sincere happiness for us that they did have a room ready so we could check in early, amazing! They had sent us an email a few days prior asking what magazines and newspapers we liked and they gave us those upon check in. We were walked to our room by a very nice woman who showed us the room and how to work the fireplace in the room, beautiful decor, wonderful high end bath products. Turn down service was scheduled at whatever time we preferred, when we got back to our room that evening chocolates were on our pillow. Newspapers we selected were at our door the next morning and the valet was very helpful with our luggage. We had reserved lounge chairs for the beach and those would have been ready for us if the tide had been lower but hey that's Mother Nature. I highly recommend any room here but if on a budget just get the pier view room it's stunning no matter which room.
