We tried this restaurant last week for our wedding anniversary. We were seated in a corner of the establishment that was definitely not part of the "see and be seen" area but we were quite happy with our out-of-the-way table.
For the most part, the food was very good but we were a bit taken aback by the pacing. At this price level one expects a more leisurely dining experience. However, we placed our order and within just a few minutes, while we were still anticipating the arrival of the bread basket that was being set on nearby tables, our salads had arrived! We had to request our bread, which was quickly brought by our server. Almost immediately after we were finished with our salads, here was our food!
I ordered the filet mignon which was melt-in-your-mouth perfect with a side of mushrooms which were a great addition. My husband had the special which was less successful (the mashed potatoes were drenched in bernaise). At the 45 minute mark (checked my watch) we were almost through with our entrees so we purposely slowed the evening a bit by taking some time to order our desert choice. The warm apple crisp was very tasty but not too long after that plate was cleared, we could see one of the staff members eyeing the tables and making notes on how far along everyone was. Therefore we decided to go ahead and make our departure so the table could be released to one of the many waiting parties that were packed into the bar.
I understand that this is a very popular restaurant but for these prices, patrons should not feel like they are being rushed along. Therefore, despite the good food and friendly service, I would not be inclined to return.
