This hotel was terrible. Checking-in, the girl at the front desk was not nice at all. She wasn`t rude, but certainly did not make any efforts trying to be nice. Same thing with the valet guy. (well, this is L.A., and it seems that this is pretty common down there)

But the worst thing: the room itself had a strong smell, a mix of cleaning products and mold. In fact, I went to check and all the floors smelled like that.

I not only wouldn`t recommend this hotel, as I left earlier than planned.

I had a conference in Palm Springs so I flew out a few days early and spent some time w/ my brother in LA before heading to the conference. The hotel staff was excellent. I cannot stress enough their courtesy and professionalism. They made the experience better than "average."

The room was fine...not bad but nothing noteworthy. There was a large bed, HDTV (with a wide variety of cable/satellite channels), and the housekeeping staff did a great job. The food was decent but, again, nothing great. Parking wasn't widely available so my brother needed to use the valet service. It was fine but more street or free parking would have been nice.

All that being said, I got a great rate through the BMWCCA and the next time I go to LA to visit my brother, I'll definitely consider staying here again. If you expect a decent hotel w/ great staff, you'll be happy.

Stayed for 3 nights here on a visit to L.A. We had the presedential suite on the fourth floor with a loft for the bedroom. Great room even though next to the lift. Satff very friendly and helpful. Good choice of restaurants within a ten minute walk at the Westfield Centre.
Only complaint was breakfast or shoukld I say the great room as HIX call it. Though this one ceryainly wasn't great in any sense of the word. Effectively it is one of the bedrooms converted to be the breakfast room, it was far too small, had too many tables and chairs in it and made breakfast an experience you wanted to miss. The service at beakfast was fine as was the food. This needs altering as this is the reason we wouldn't return to the hotel, 9 tables in a room come on.

We enjoyed staying in this hotel. It was a huge room. Sheets were changed daily. Breakfast room was very small, but standard and nice options. Location was good. Close to a nice mall and also to the airport. One important negative factor is you can hear the footsteps of the person walking in the room above. We could even hear him/her unzip the luggage. We didn't experience any rude attitude, on the contrary all the personnel was polite and attentive. The parking lot is small, but its valet parking anyway.
