Just completed a 5 night stay at this hotel. Was checked into their “ Bedroom Suite - 1 Queen & Sofabed” directly on their website www.hotel250.com
Exactly like the pictures shown on their website, it has a queen sized bed in a separate room and a queen sofa bed in the living room. This is great if you value your privacy and have kids staying with you as well. There is a separate sink and counter area where the microwave and refrigerator (yes, there is a freezer on top) are. There is also ample cabinet space for you to store your utensils and other items you need in those cabinets.
The bathroom sink is located outside the bathroom which is convenient. The size of the bathroom is spacious. Twin toilet rolls available and curved shower curtain rod is a nice touch, giving you extra elbow room. Basic toiletries provided are two soaps, Conditioning Shampoo, bath gel, and lotion. Ironing board with steam iron, two extra pillows, extra blanket with extra bed sheets also provided in the closet by the bathroom. How the room is photographed on the web site is an accurate representation of the room. Complimentary coffee, tea and condiments with 4 Cup sized coffeemaker in room as well. 32” flat panel TV in the living room, sitting on top of a 3 drawer chest as well for extra storage.Efficient, fast responding individually control air conditioner, fan/heater as well. Large, glass topped desk with a two power outlet equipped lamp as well. There are more than enough lighting to satisfy the need. There are three mirrors in this suite if needed. There is also an arm chair in this room. Free local calls to “213” and “323” area codes as well as 1-800 numbers. Free Hi Speed Wifi included.
The bedroom has a locking door, and the CRT TV sits on top of a 4 drawer chest. The pillows and comforter feels premium grade and its comfortable. You are provided with 4 pillows in the room. Overall, the furnishings and the renovations that make this room nice takes it up a level of comfort. The exterior look of the hotel may look dated, but the inside has been renovated and it does have a nice, cosy feeling about it.
There is lots of room in this suite to move around and not feel cramped.
The complimentary breakfast offered in this hotel has all your basic continental breakfast items like: Oatmeal, Orange, banana, 3 kinds of cereal, two make-your-own-waffle station, Orange/Apple juice, Toast, Bagels, little muffins, jam/jelly/cream cheese, hard boiled egg, Coffee, tea and milk. The additional items are bacon and eggs added, which makes this now a hot breakfast. Bacon looks, smells and taste like bacon. The scrambled eggs offered are those powdered or liquid eggs, cooked to look like them. Not really good, but its complimentary. The room is smaller though so you may feel cramped sitting in those chairs at the tables.
There is only one elevator and its pretty tight so even the one trolley for your luggage available can hardly fit in it. Its a 5 storey hotel that is on a hill so the whole hotel is sloped. The doors to the hotel room are outside so if it rains heavily, you might get wet too. If your hotel room is located near or at the end of the hotel, you will walk a great distance to get there. There are other exits out of the hotel but you cannot get back in using those same doors. The lobby is also nicely renovated looks clean.
There are ample parking at the hotel as well. Housekeeping and staff are efficient and friendly. They get the job done well. Renovations are done well too.
The location is so convenient to Downtown L.A. by car (10 minutes away no traffic) and very accessible by highway to other parts of greater L.A. County as well. If there is no traffic, its only 25 minutes away from LAX since a major highway is literally behind it. There is a KFC, Pizza parlour and a gas station nearby if you need to buy some essentials or eat if you have no vehicle. If you are willing to walk further, there are other places to eat if you don’t mind the seedy looking neighborhoods.
Tip: L.A. is a large urban sprawl so make sure you rent a car or else its very inconvenient and time waster if you walk. If you don’t mind taking the Metro, then its not too bad.
I would not mind staying at this hotel again in the future for its clean, nice decor, friendly staff, and great convenient location by car to other attractions.
Our room faces the Hollywood sign which was a nice view.
Book early and directly with the hotel website since it gives you lots of information and choices fo...
