Impossible a better location for those who want to see the Kodak Theatre and the surrounding area. Easy access from the airport (not close, but easy), very friendly staff. Free parking (but sometimes not enough for all guests). Complimentary breakfast could be better. The rooms are clean. There's no elevator what can be a problem if you are carrying lots of luggage. After all, the price is very good if you remember that's is L.A. I recommend and would stay there again.

  • Disliked — The lack of an elevator.

This hotel is on side street at the back of central hollywood - it feels perfectly safe and you can literally walk through a neighbouring hotels underground car park and you're in the middle of hollywood - right outside Mann's Chinese Theatre.

I sort of expected it but Hollywood is a bit of a dump - something you have to see but can be dodgy at night if you wander too far - but if you want a central location this is also right by a massive shopping centre with restaurants and bars which is actually quite nice, and you can get the bus tours around LA, stars homes etc.

On that note - if you have a car we bought a map and did it ourselves - you can only see gates a lot of the time but at least its ones you're interested in - but don't loiter of bother getting out of the car, there's CCTV everywhere. A bus top tour of LA was good fun though and you can get on and off where you like, but expect to spend a bit of time hanging round at bus stops.

The hotel itself was clean and comfortable with not bad sized rooms - much better inside than it looks outside. Internet access in reception, helpful staff and a pleasant complimentary continental breakfast.

If you want luxury in a fancy location this probably isn't the place - but it is good value if you just want a base to explore from.

  • Liked — Staff, value
  • Disliked — Outside needs updating and car park fills up quickly

My husband and I love to take road trips for our vacations so we have stayed in many hotels across the country. This hotel was decent. Not great, but certainly comfortable. It was clean and the bed was comfortable, which is really the most important thing in a hotel for me. The location is great if you are staying in hollywood and want to see the typical sites. Just a block away from hollywood Blvd. The parking lot is tight and can be difficult to park and leave. And the tv is tiny. They could use a little updating, but it was still a nice stay.

I spent four nights at the Hollywood Celebrity Hotel. Overall, it is a hotel that provides good value and a good location. It is not a glitzy place, and services are limited, but for the person who knows what he is getting, it is a good option.

The hotel is located about a block off Hollywood Blvd., near the Chinese theater and the other famous Hollywood sites. It is, however, on a relatively quiet side street, so you're buffered from the noise of Hollywood Blvd.

There are plenty of restaurants in the area, so one needn't drive to eat. That's important for two reasons: first, traffic around the hotel is always bad. Second, the hotel does not offer room service or any other in-hotel dining, other than a continental breakfast.

The hotel is close to the Hollywood freeway, which makes access convenient to places such as Universal Studios and the valley. It is also close to the Hollywood Bowl, Griffith Observatory, Paramount Studios, and upper Sunset Blvd and Santa Monica Blvd. It would not be ideal for someone planning to spend lots of time at the beach because the drive to the ocean is brutal because of traffic.

My room was spacious. There was a large living room area, small kitchen, and large bedroom. The bathroom was small, but adequate.

The hotel provides free internet access via an ethernet line. It worked fine.

There is free parking in a lot near the hotel.

I would stay here again. It is not the type of place that will impress anyone with its flair or style, but if you're in LA to do things and not spend much time at the hotel, it is a reasonable option given its location and affordable price.

  • Liked — Convenient location
  • Disliked — No elevator to second floor; sometimes dirty.

At around $100/night for a good quality, spacious room with ensuite, right in the heart of Hollywood, this hotel can't be beaten for value for money.

The hotel has a great feel to it - a bit art deco, clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The access to free internet is popular, and there were a few times when I had to wait but not a major problem.

The location is great for many tourist attractions like Graumans, Hollywood Boulevarde and Kodak theatre and the proximity to the metro really convenient. I was there on my own and I felt safe walking around the area at night - the hotel itself is a block back from the Walk of Fame and is like a residential enclave with houses and other boutique hotels nearby.

A few reviewers have complained about the complementary continental breakfast, and it's true that it is basic but what are people expecting for nothing? It was useful to have there as a back up for when I couldn't be bothered going out for breakfast (this happened more than once).

I will definitely return here next time I'm in LA.

  • Liked — Location, value for money and friendly staff
  • Disliked — Water pressure in shower was a bit weak for me
